FSU Reinstates Hayes

It was Taylor Britt that headbutted the police officer. But the point is taken, we shouldnt be throwing stones at anyone in this regard.

Yep,it was Taylor after the NI game 5 years ago.Yes,he was suspended for at least 2 games. IMO,the DL that kicked in the window, and slammed the officer this year was a bad mark for sure.We have had more than our share of problems this year too.

Every team has kids that do stupid things, but its the way this one was treated. If the allegations are true, and not like Simeon's, it is like a three year old picked the punishment. You know he'll be out here after Grant busts a 30 yarder.

"Demoted to 2nd string?" That should be common sense.

The 3rd string player who was thinking he might have a chance to play must be ticked!!

Roll Tide!!

This is a perfect example of why I always wonder about the Bowden love that happens around here. I have some respect for him, but growing up in Florida and hearing him whine after every game, along with the constant scandals that occurred (when they were good) gives me a slightly different perspective.

Hayes gets tased by the cops because of his outrageous behavior and he gets demoted to second string for a snap or two?

Not surprising, knowing BB.

I forgot about the cops having to tase him. The dude went loco.
I guess Papa Bowden is looking for a little of that intensity on the field.

Shouldn't throw stones in a glass house!!

We have had our share of off the field issues and I see our players out there starting.........................>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>..........................

Man, I hope Roy Upchurch has a breakout game this week. And isn't Simeon Castile's disorderly conduct trial today (for real, I think it is/was)?

*CRASH* Oops! Guess I shouldn't have slammed the door to our glass house. This isn't news, folks, and CBB isn't doing anything that CNS wouldn't do - or hasn't already done. Let's move on.

SC's trial was rescheduled for the open week in October. Not that surprising under the circumstances.

I agree no one who is banking on stellar behavior out of almost any group of 100+ 18-21 year olds should cast any aspersions. However, is there really anyone on the board who seriously thought that Bobby Bowden was going to keep this guy out of any meaningful action with Alabama coming to town?

Comparing either of those cases to one where the guy had to be tased for the cops to be able to control him is a bit far-fetched, imo.

agree with uaintn - CBB has done this over and over...

In case you haven't been on YouTube recently, it doesn't take much for police officers down here in Florida to break out the taser, bro. Seriously, Castile and Upchurch may not be a good comparison, but the Brandon Deadrick situation is/was VERY similar ... except Deadrick made it even worse by (allegedly) actually battering an officer and then giving a false name to the police (because THAT's always a good idea). Handled internally, if I recall correctly.

No argument there. CBB is a "boys will be boys" type of guy.

I guess i am on both sides of the fence on this. on one hand I have no idea what really happend and can't "throw stones" because of the the similar instances at bama but on the other hand growing up in the same generation (although a few years removed) i can see how a night out on the town can lead to getting a taser, i've gotten maced before for doing absoultly nothing so i don't put much stock in the taser aspect of the crime, these cops are using them at will, but its better than getting shot, like that kid in Califorina.

i also think this is wht separates CBB from JoePa. he had his entire team clean the stadium after a game for a fight that only a few were in. I think that punishment was worse than a superficial "demotion". from a complete outsider's perspective I think CBB would do anything to win even if that means lowering his standards but I don't sey JoePa doing that.

Guys, You can legitimately debate Bowden's decision (I think Hayes should have remained suspended) but please stick to the facts : Hayes DIDN"T TOUCH the cop (which doesn't mean the charge of assault is false - but it's still notable given some of the assumptions here) and Hayes was NOT tasered (that was Surrat -who is charged with a felony and is automatically suspended by university rule).
