Assuming we go to Dallas me and my roomate(we are poor college students) dont have the money to get out there. So we have decided to take other means. We drove past Wendy's the other day and say that if you collect 64 biggie cups then you earn a fee airtran ticket to anywhere in the U.S. The past two days here in tuscaloosa we have been hanging out at Wendy's asking people for there cups. Not getting very many, we have decided to take another path. At midnight everynight we have been climbing in there dumpster and collecting cups. We both need 64, so 128 is a lot of cups. We are almost there, so wish us well and hopefully we will be joining everyone in Dallas. My point is, that if you have the money please for our sake get out there and root on the tide. And to the person who asked if he should go afraid that Bama will lose. I would love to be in your position. So go have a good time, and remember us 19 year olds who dont have the funds and go root on the tide!!

Hahah. Man you guys are committed.
Maybe, need to be committed?

God man, that's nasty. Take Greyhound...I'm sure the bus will smell better at least.

In the weeks leading up to the UCLA trip to the left coast there were several students who had tip buckets out at the Corner Store there on campus. I gave them $$ everytime I went in there...simply because I thought it was one of the funniest things I've seen...tips for being a cashier and a convienence store.

On several occasions I went in there fairly early in the AM on my way to Ramma Jamma's for breakfast...night shift people were still there and the bucket was pretty full.

Good luck

Good luck with the Wendy's cups. I think y'all are crazy to go dumpster diving.

Save your money too. You'll need money for a rental car or taxi after to fly in.

Edit: If you were driving, "No Sleep Til Dallas!".

I just dont think I would feel safe on an airplane that gives you a free ticket for drinking cokes at wendy's...lol...me and some friends got in a conversation the other day when we saw that sign.

BTW, the tip jar is still at the Corner Store. It is affectionately now labeled "Beer Fund"..lol

AirTran

With AirTran, you'll have to fly out of Atlanta. A round trip ticket from Atlanta to Dallas/FW costs about $120-$200 now. Buying 64 biggie cups would be about $190. Getting the cups free makes it a good deal. :D

My wife and I have an AirTran Visa and there are alot of stipulations to when we can use our points for our free airline tickets. I would suggest calling them, them being Airtran, first.

Roundtrip tickets for only $120? That's a great deal.

I'm a student too and I think we are gonna end up driving. It will probably be cheaper in the long run cause we will be able to get around Dallas, besides its not much farther to Dallas than to Columbia and we already made that trip this year. I'm still hoping for Outback though, it would be easier for me to find a place to stay.

Oh, and I got a loan week before last to cover the expenses of my Auburn ticket. Ending up paying $200. Went home for thanksgiving and groveled, and now I'm back in the black.

If anybody is interested in carpooling, don't be afraid to drop me a line. I still don't know who all is going and what cars we are taking nor do I know the destination, but the more Bama fans the merrier.

yeah

i have checked witht the airline and as far as holiday travel we are going to fly out the 1st. When you look at airtran a ticket for 119 bones is only one way and before taxes. We checked into it and it would cost almost 300 to fly if we pay. We will take our chances and hopefully it will work out. We havent missed a game yet, so i might die if we cant make the bowl game

You might want to stop hanging out and Wendy's and take some time to actually read the details of the offer.

1. As was mentioned, redemption is blacked out around Christmas and New Years.

2. You will have to mail the purchase proofs, and then wait approximately 6 weeks for the points to be credited.

Good call, but not so fast buddy

You seem to know what your talking about Steven, but i spoke witht he lady and January 1st is not a blackout day January 2 is. January 3rd would be awarded to me as long as we fly out at night. The director of the promotion also told me about 2 hours ago that it could take up to 6 weeks, depending on amount of mail that comes in. And as of right now it will take only about 2-3 weeks. So why dont you take your head out of your *****, and reasearch it further instead of just reading the webpage. Yes, you might seem slick but your not buddy

What I said stands. You only bothered to ask about the timeframe yourself after people started to point out the potential problems and after you spent your time at Wendy's going through the dumpsters. I am not the one doing it, so I don't need to "reasearch" it further, you do. If you are going to be unhappy with people pointing out problems with your plan and your approach, then don't bring it up.

I would recommend that you put this much time and effort into learning grammar, spelling, and punctuation and perhaps you will make the most of your college education.

In any event, I wish you the best of luck and I hope you and your friend make it.

And no, I am not slick. That was only in the 70s. I am now the shizzle.

My question is... what happens when you get all the cups you need but can't find any tickets to buy? All that dumpster diving would have been a waste of time, health, and clothing. Ha! Ha! My problem is finding tickets. I'll freakin drive the 12 hours if I have to.

My husband has Airtran Visa too- we went to the Bahamas this summer with the kids and a babysitter - we had 2 free tickets so our air expense was nothing!!!

That is so funny you mentioned dumpster diving b/c my hubby said he was gonna do the same thing!!!! OMG, I told him he would do it on his own!!!!! Let me know if you have extras you don't need :D
