Bama, clem, tcu, & mich/oh st. get in the playoffs & tenn doesn't:LOL: i believe Bama can beat clem, tcu & UM/oh st. Just Win Bama!! That's a lot to ask for though:oops:
***You could even flip tenn & uga in the first sentence. same result.

UGA has more experience in pressure games, and weapons that are mismatches for the UT defense....especially with their TE group. If Thurston-Howell III doesnt throw INTs then UGA wins...their defense is legit up front which will hold the UT run game and that makes Hooker a thrower...he's ok, but has shown in the past at VaTech he is prone to INTs.

Yes, but wouldn't it be sweeter if they get even more full of self and then we destroy them in the SECCG and possibly knock them out of the CFP?

Speaking of letting the air out of the balloon, I've been meaning to ask you how different the TAMU fans are out in Texas this year compared to last?
Maybe. I don’t really care on revenge games in season. Auburn beat us in 2017 and gets to whine about injustice to this day, all while they were giving an overrated buffoon more money than he deserved.

I “get” the folks saying this, but it has little effect on me. When I buy my championship gear, it never says anything like “avenged defeat” or “without Colt,” even if it should say “handicapped by Bill O’Brien” if we win one this year.

Any truth to the rumor he puts his playbook in the window as a parking decal for the disabled persons spot?

I "want" Tennessee to win, so we can possibly get another shot at them. Let's see how Tennessee handles being the top of the mountain in terms of rankings. That's a different beast when you go to a hostile Georgia environment that feels disrespected. I "think" Georgia will win, but I will not be shocked if it's a close game. I would only be shocked if Tennessee blew the doors off of them.

no reason to be sold on bennett. all he has is age/experience to go along with a system that works for him and is surrounded by talent to throw the ball to or hand it off
As long as he has been around, I expect the system(s) that works best for him are Social Security and Medicare? Maybe after the game he and Hooker can attend an AARP meeting in Athens.

I'll be rooting for the Giant Meteor. Assuming that doesn't happen, UT is giving off serious 2019 LSU vibes, but I think since Kirby has the Bama film and watched Heupel empty the playbook against us he'll be better prepared and the home-field gives UGA an edge. I'd like UT to win to set up a potential rematch in the SECCG.

Call this game The Battle of the Ancient QBs. Hooker was in Tua's recruiting class for Pete's sake.....

That said, it won't matter who wins this one if we don't take care of business in a couple of very tough road games the next 2 weeks.....

the interesting thing to me is that vegas has this game lower scoring than I expect. Vegas has the game at 37-29 UGA.
I'm thinking 38-21 UGA.

People are looking at our game vs. UT and extrapolating it out. We had a historically bad defensive game. And bad relative to UT's average output. That was also a historically corruptly reffed game in Knoxville. UT will not receive that same benefit in Athens.

I got Georgia by at least 2 TD but I want the Vols.
I know Georgia lost their best pass rusher but we have to admit that this is a very balance team with no major weakness. We'll see.

in what way? they had 576 yards of offense against florida which is right right in line with the amount of offense they typically have. I don't think their defense has proven anything yet
UT defense has been playing better than at the start of the year. LSU got13 and Kentucky got 8. It's certainly not a great defense, but not the worst defense in the SEC by any means.

A lot depends on who can pressure the passer.

I haven't seen anything special out of Georgia yet. They are a good team, but they can look sloppy. In a game like Saturday's game, I don't think Georgia can stop UT at all. UT will stop themselves a few times, but if the Vols need 45, they'll get it. Georgia may get 46 or they may boat race the Vols, but my gut tells me to take the Vols. No one has come close to slowing that team down yet.

Maybe the Dawgs will get it done. We'll see.

I would prefer to play UGA and not face Tennessee's offense again.

What do y'all think the over and under for defensive pass interference penalties will be in the LSU vs Alabama game?

I think Tennessee wins. I hope Tennessee wins. IMO only two SEC teams - max! - get in the CFP. I want the scenario that best positions Bama to be one of the two SEC teams chosen.

If TN beats UGA and Bama beats TN in the SECCG, Bama will have avenged their one loss and will have beaten the team that beat UGA. A no-brainer CFP selection.

If UGA beats TN and Bama beats UGA in the SECCG, we have a circle of sorts, where TN beat Bama who Beat UGA who beat TN who beat Bama etc. I don't want the CFP Committee to have a goofball "rational" explanation for not picking Bama.

Soooo... Go Vols!! This weekend anyway...

Obviously all of the above assumes Bama wins out and TN & UGA win out other than one loses to the other this weekend.

If we win the SECCG, we're in.

I’d rather UT win. Because I think barring something weird, it knocks UGA out of the playoffs.

I think UT is the easier out in ATL. And then gives Michigan and Oregon a chance to get in. Because I want Bama with Michigan, Oregon and an exposed UT in the playoffs
:)
