Ready for some football, hoping the Debor era gets off to a great start, remember Stallings was 0-3 out of the gate even though he won a national title, and on being vanilla who cares what anyone sees what plays we run, my philosophy is, here it is stop it if you can RTR
We could have been 3-0 but we seemed those games in the most frustrating ways.

I heard this morning on Mac and Cube that WKU blitzes 46% of the time (led the nation last year). So we should be able to see something about pass protection and whether Milroe gets the ball out quicker.
It looked to me like several teams blitzed Bama's offense at least 46% of the plays in 2022 and 2023. They had Young scrambling to make a play, and sacking Milroe. But I think this offense is better prepared for blitzes, than those of the last two seasons. I hope WKU does blitz a lot. It would be a good test for Bama's offense. Other better teams will definitely blitz later on.

I recall the Southern Miss team that year was senior laden and they got us by one score (they also took down the barn that year). then we lost to Florida & UGA for a combined total of 5 points. We collected up some injuries on a team that wasn't that talented to start with.

We lost our top 2 or 3 running backs (Siran Stacy, Tarrant Lynch) and our best WR, Craig Sanderson, during those early part of the season. Lynch may have been injured in the first win against Vandy. Seems like he had around 100 yards as a true freshman and then blew out his knee. When he came back he was a (very good) fullback.

I'm not sure a new incoming Alabama coach has ever inherited the type of talent CKD has inherited. Also, no other incoming Alabama coach has inherited the program as solid as CNS left it. If we lose 4 games something catastrophic has happened.
Possibly the closest in inherited talent was maybe Bill Curry in 1987? Perkins didn’t leave the cupboard bare. He did recruit well. As to the overall “state of the program”, well not so much.

We might as well get ready for the defensive pressure. Not only because it forces JM to speed up (which is any QB's kryptonite), but since it's been an issue it'll continue. Compare that also with how poorly it worked when teams didn't try to speed him up (4th and 31).

Well, I think we need to get ready for Western Kentucky to blitz, because Greg McElroy said on his show this morning that they blitzed more than any team in college football last year at a rate of something like 46% of the time.

That's the exact info from @Ledsteplin my post was referencing.
