Good luck with Saban

New to this forum (also new to Alabama via the post Katrina railroad). I am about as diehard an LSU fan as could be found. When first hearing about the hiring, I was infuriated for many reasons- which is understandable. However; when all is said and done a man has to do what is best for his family. There is no doubt he will do your university well- if left alone. I believe that with Saban at Alabama, there will be a year after year 3 team race in the west between LSU, Bama, and Auburn with Arkansas sprinkled in every decade or so. FWIW I discovered this site at tigerforums, there is a poster named Terry who seems to be well informed and able to debate-not hate.

I can understand you being a bit upset, but infuriated is not a logical response in my book. CNS said numerous times his biggest mistake was leaving LSU and I would bet my house that if the job had been available again, he would have gone right back and retired there. That is why I believe he'll stay with Bama until he does retire. For what it's worth, I don't see Saban as the kind of coach who will coach until he is 70...I think we'll have him for 5 or 6 years and he'll retire.

Our rivalry is more fun when both teams are good. I look forward to coming back to Tiger Stadium with at least a chance to win. Nice beat down on Notre Dame.

Welcome to tidefans I also post on tigerforums as a "Contributor" not a guest and have for several years. I don't post that often, it's like poking a snake with a stick. If the stick isn't long enough you can get bit. Really, I have several friends on tigerforums and at least read it often. What is your username on tigerforums? You aren't tirk are you?

No, i'm not Tirk. Tigerforums is a good site for the latest info. They have about 10-15 regular posters who are very critical of others who have a differing of opinion. Therefore, I lurk more often than not so that I can get the gossip and stay out of the fire. I live in Helena, so I am now a fan of LSU, Alabama (when not playing LSU) and anyone who plays Auburn.

I lived in Louisiana for 30 years. Move there for employment opportunities and almost didn't make enough money to move away. I have been to almost as many LSU games as Alabama games and have enjoyed most of them. At least the food was good.

I hope everyone that hates Nick Saban and Alabama doesn't base too much of their gameplan on the heartfelt belief they have been lied to. I can't see that helping them much.

It was not Supercoon that caused the trouble is was a fly by trouble maker that got himself banned rather quickly.
