Greatest rock and/or roll song . .

Doesn't seem possible that "Like A Rolling Stone" is 40 years old.

Posting as a fun read. The opinions exressed are not necessarily . . .

The song broke in the summer of 1965, a fired gun of a drum shot followed by words out of a fairy tale: "Once upon a time, you dressed so fine ..."

Tie between The Stones's "Can You Hear Me Knockin'" and David Bowie's "Rebel, Rebel".

I've always been a fan of the following songs and they rotate in and out of my top spot:

Who - Who Are you?

Led Zep - Stairway to Heaven

Skynyrd - Freebird

Stones - Paint it Black

Allman Brothers - Rambling Man

I should have been born 10 years earlier. I missed my calling.

My top 10 change almost daily depending on my mood. That is the beautiful thing about music, the variety. I would be hard pressed to name my favorite song of all time because it would probably change the next day. :D

What did I listen to today?

Dire Straits
Hole
Nirvana
Dave Mason
Evanessence
Gavin DeGraw
Humble Pie
Van Morrison
Patrica Barber

1. Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills and Far Away
2. Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
3. Led Zeppelin - Black Dog

(those top 3 are interchangeable, depending on my mood)

I guess my favorite band of all-time is pretty apparent

Outside of those...

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama
AC/DC - For Those about to Rock
Rolling Stones - Satisfaction
Rolling Stones - Jumpin' Jack Flash

AND OF COURSE:

Million Dollar Band - Yea Alabama

This morning's listening pleasure has been:

10,000 Maniacs
Genesis
Paul Simon
Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes is one of the greatest songs I have heard.
