News Article: Green coming back!

He didn't make any announcement. The newspaper did. He just told his coach.

I stand corrected then. I can admit it. My whole point is that he wasn't going to be an NBA draft pick this year, so why announce anything. It's really only worth announcing if you're going to do something "out of the ordinary", like leave school early. I'm going to go to work tomorrow, like normal. So i'm not going to announce it. But if i were going to suddenly retire I'd let a few people know. Just sayin'.

LD, would you rather get a true center or great shooting guard for us next year? I think we need a tall, big body in the center but so much of our game comes from the paint and transition. I think we are in dire need of a great outside shooter more than a center though having both would be really nice, just my opinion.

I would rather have both, but I also think that Releford is going to step up his outside game this summer for next year. I think we will get both.

This is great news! I don't think anybody could say we would not have had a gaping hole in our team next year if he had left. I think we are going to have a great team next year. Grant won't let them lose the edge that they play with.

Yea, with losing Hines in the post and our lack of outside shooting this season - i'd say a priority are both - bigs on the block and outside shooters.

Congrats to Jamychal for his game last night. His jumper last night looked fantastic and I haven't seen him hit jumpers like that consistently throughout a game in I don't know how long - maybe ever. He was playing with heart and confidence.
He needs to work on the mental aspect of the game, a little bit -- in that playing smarter and not getting into foul trouble. I hate to harp in this too much - because a lot of it is effort and I can't dog someone for playing with effort. However, he's been in foul trouble for much of the NIT and it hasn't exactly helped our team when he goes to the bench for extended periods of the second half.
Also, after he fouled out - i was dissapointed b/c he became disinterested in the game and the team instead of trying to give everybody confidence. With him staying for his senior season, I hope he can take more of a leadership role and lead by example. I saw him coaching Releford up last night at one point in the game and I was happy to see that. We need Jamychal to take that role and embrace it b/c we're only going to get younger next season with some freshmen coming in and possibly seeing an increased role early.
