Guitar Amp Question

I think you would like the Ibanez Tube Screamer, it's Eddie Van Halen's pedal of choice.

Tube Screamer rocks. It's my favorite. I guess I'm gonna be the next Eddie Van Halen.

I like my Boss RC-20XL Loop station. It's fun to play around with. You can lay 11 loops down at once. The best feature is that you can change the output level so your loops don't dominate anything you're playing. It's great. I bought it when I was in a three piece band and it filled in the gaps nicely.

Other than those, I just use my Crybaby 535Q, a vox volume pedal, and a Boss CS-3 Compression Pedal.

I like to talk pedals....I went pedal nuts a while ago. I bought everything I could afford. But now I'm down to those. A man can get too fancy IMO.

You a pro musician bayou? There are probably hall of fame guitarists who don't even know half this crap (ie Peter Buck who I just saw with Robyn Hitchcock last night, it was sweet :D ). Or are you just making this up out of boredom or insanity?

I bet his neighbors just love listening to all of his tinkering !

Also , something tells me that Bayou may just have a few $'s in his pocket .

I used to play back in the day. I think once you really get into it you always have to have an instrument in the house. My wife has a baby grand in the house and I also have a fiddle and a set of conga drums which I play both rather badly. After you get past owning about three instruments collecting crosses your mind. I had a guitar and amp collection stolen from a house back in the early 90's, nice stuff. It took a while to build the collection back up, I would run across this guitar then that guitar and buy them. I bought the Fender amp from a buddy and the Vox amp at a garage sale, no joke. The Fender was a closet relic but the Vox had issues and had to go to the hospital. I had a friend who worked for the gas company doing house service calls. Every house he went in he would ask if they had any guitars or amps they wanted to get rid of. He had a music room vault in his home full of classics and sometimes he would offer me something he had too many of. The mapleglow Rickenbacker 6/12 was a Christmas present from my wife and the Spector Legend Bass and Ashdown amp rig I bought from a dealer who needed to make a quota order to become a dealer for those products, right place at the right time. We live out in the country so there are no close neighbors to bother.

After I retired I built a little Fender Champ clone just to see if I could and it worked. I built an 18 watt Marshall 2X12 combo amp that I later sold with much regret. I probably built 30 amps selling all but 3, I kept one, gave one to my son and gave another to a good friend as a present. The gift amp was a Vibro Champ covered in purple and yellow tolex and had LSU stenciled on the black grill cloth in yellow. The 18 watt Marshall was bought by my gas company buddy and he plays gigs with it. His favorite amp is his Dumbal Overdrive Special, likes it better than his Matchless Chieftain.

My wife has all the $$$$. ;)

Did you guys know there is a member of this message board who had a top 100 hit in 1977 and also played with the Allman Brothers Band? No, it isn't me.

Hey Bayou, does your wife have a single sister with the same qualities??..;)

As far as your second comment, my gut feeling has got to be the great Chuck Leavell.
