I got awakened by my daughters whom my husband had helped set up a nice display on the kitchen table. My daughters are 5 and 3 1/2 so I got a nice little collection of handmade cards, a cloth with my youngest's handprints in paint, a decorated flower pot complete with artificial flowers, a set of heart-shaped ruby earrings, and a "trophy" made out of a candlestick. Hard to believe two little preschoolers made me cry at 6:30 a.m., but it's true. It was the sweetest, most pure Mother's Day I've had to date and I loved every minute of it.
Hubby's about to fire up the grill to cook us a nice London Broil and some corn and I think I'll even have a sundae made out of Edy's Girl Scout Samoa Cookies ice cream tonight while watching Deadwood on HBO.
Oh, and I haven't lifted a finger all day. I do believe I'm in heaven!
