Thanks to all for the wishes!

My son called from Birmingham, and my daughter is here at home. My barner hubby got me a brand new CRIMSON recliner so I can watch those games I can't attend in comfort!

Best wishes to all the other Moms in the Bama family.

I got awakened by my daughters whom my husband had helped set up a nice display on the kitchen table. My daughters are 5 and 3 1/2 so I got a nice little collection of handmade cards, a cloth with my youngest's handprints in paint, a decorated flower pot complete with artificial flowers, a set of heart-shaped ruby earrings, and a "trophy" made out of a candlestick. Hard to believe two little preschoolers made me cry at 6:30 a.m., but it's true. It was the sweetest, most pure Mother's Day I've had to date and I loved every minute of it.

Hubby's about to fire up the grill to cook us a nice London Broil and some corn and I think I'll even have a sundae made out of Edy's Girl Scout Samoa Cookies ice cream tonight while watching Deadwood on HBO.

Oh, and I haven't lifted a finger all day. I do believe I'm in heaven!

A big second...

to all those Mothers' Day greetings. My mom's been gone twenty-five years now, but I did my best. In the UMC, the lectionary for today is Luke 15 - the three "lost" parables - the lost sheep, the lost coin, the lost son. I sang "The Ninety and Nine," an old hymn about the shepherd's search for the one lost sheep. It was my mom's favorite solo for my older brother to sing. I made it through two services without choking up. Who knows? Maybe something drifted up...

Well, I'm in the doghouse this mother's day. I planned a trip to the beach with my wife, a mother of 2, for mother's day and all she wanted was a @#&$* card. I have been working 13 hr shifts at night here at UAB for the past 2 days, and I have 2 more to go. I think I'll try for simplier next year, I'll never understand women. Happy Mother's Day to Everyone, and ladies remember to go easy on us, we try.

You're alright Earle. Condolences to you, on mom's day, I think you're a good son to honor your mom the way you do. I hope it's been a good one for ya. Wish me luck on my better half. Hope it doesn't rain.

Thanks everyone!

I had a really great day yesterday BUT today has been even better! We had our chapter's golf tournament today and I got to meet Coach Shula and had my picture made with him. Then, total surprise, Brodie showed up with John Croyle so I had my picture made with both of them as well! Ah, what a wonderful day it is!!!!!!!!

My hubby had a left a message on my cell just to make sure I was still breathing :)

UAB's taken. But hang around...

LOL, I'm taken too - I was just trying to help his ego by stating I would love a trip to the beach for Mother's Day. :) I guess it did kind of sound like I was "hitting" on him.

Instead, I will take a trip to the Bahamas in a little over 3 weeks for my 10 year wedding anniversary! Counting the days!!!!!!!!

You just left me an opening that I couldn't pass up... :D
Yep, and I'm blaming it all on the grass cutting at the golf course this morning - yeah, that's the ticket...the grass has affected my thinking for the day (and it had nothing to do with meeting CMS and BC)
