He was tried, convicted and sentenced. He was released after serving a length of time that the court found appropriate. We're not aubies, so it doesn't make sense for us to harp on it.

His lawyer says he wants to go back to Louisiana and never be heard from again. I'll second that motion. Every time the local news in Mobile mentioned his name they always followed it with "an Alabama fan". I felt like calling the station to complain about that more than once.

One minute after posting this, CBS in Mobile led with the story on their 5:00 news...this time it was "A rabid Alabama fan, Harvey Updyke was released from jail today..."

A Facebook friend of mine who has been obsessed with Updyke of course posted a picture of him coming out of jail. Sadly, it was a picture shared from some Facebook group called ...... Grammar and dumb me clicked on the link to see what the group was about. What has been seen cannot be unseen, my IQ dropped thirty points while reading it.
