Game Thread: Heisman Trophy Presentation

Sorry to see TR didn't win, but I am glad to have a representative from the University of Alabama. I truly believe that if the Heisman was the most important thing to Trent that he would have played more than 3 quarters in most of our games.
i'm not sure i understand that argument. during the awards show they showed a graphic that said TR had the most yards in the second halves of games in all of FBS, over 900 yards, which is more than half his total.

I am glad Trent won the Doak Walker, and I am sure he was very honored to finish third in the Heisman. That is huge, considering before Mark won, it was a long time since we even had a finalist at all.

Congrats to RG3, he definitely is a great a QB. This will be motivation for Trent in New Orleans to prove everyone wrong.

I saw that graphic too, which makes TR all the more impressive. I'd be willing to bet that he got 600 of those 900 yards in the 3rd quarter. I do remember Trent sitting a lot in the 4th quarter. Remember, in most games we had a good lead and Saban saw no need to play him.

I do not have the stats, but I recall TR getting more yards in the second half from tiring the defenses. I would guess he averaged 1 or 2 more yards per carry in the second half.

I am just glad that someone with character and morals won. Flame away. Last year's winner was a JOKE and the integrity of the Heisman is back.

Let's focus on the BCSNCG crystal trophy. That one is FAR more important. RTR and thank you to Trent for getting to NYC!!

I must say....I am impressed with Andrew Luck. That guy has a lot on the ball. You have to like this kid. His response to Rinauldi's stupid question was awesome.
I agree. Very well spoken young man, lost with class and dignity. He said he would not lament on what it would have taken for him to win, that he wouldn't say anything to take anything away from RGIII, that RGIII deserved it.

Trent Richardson was a victim of our success. I call it a backlash or anti-Bama vote. It's a shame. :(

I am glad that RG3 was presented the trophy, since Trent was shunned...
'3' appears to be one of the 'Good Guys'.

This had to be one of the classiest Heisman groups ever. Let everyone say what they will about the Honey Badger, and I'm not going to get into that...but between RGIII, Luck, Ball, and Richardson you have some REALLY classy guys.

I was/am very impressed with RGIII. He is very articulate and his performance on the football field is awesome. He seems to be a CLASS ACT! He was hurt a couple of years ago and he came back BIG TIME!

The five finalists are pretty good football players. Add in Barkley from USC and this was a very good Heisman class. If I were an NFL owner, Luck would be my first pick. If he were NOT available, I'd have to look next at RGIII or Trent. If I need a QB it would be RGIII. If I needed anything other than a QB it would be Trent.

I do hope Trent wins the MOST IMPORTANT award: the BCSNCG MVP (that means a Bama win, I hope).

By the way, the state of Texas did have two representatives in the Heisman this year: Luck and RGIII.

Here is a nice picture of the Heisman finalists......

RGIII was very articulate and obviously very talented on the field. I don't have a problem with him winning either. Dont think Trent had a chance after it was announced that we would play in the NC, which is a shame. Thought everyone presented themselves well with one exception....who WAS that pimp in the silver suit?????

Look at the picture a couple of post up. At the bottom it says "MVP test positive for performance enhancing drugs..." I took my son to see Joe Paterno coach against Alabama and I told him about the classy program they had, etc... It is hard to find good role models for a young man these days. I think we saw some great ones last night at the Heisman awards. I know it all begins at home, but I'm glad my son got to see some fine young men who have come about success the right way. By all accounts, they are fine students and thier work ethic is incredible. I say thanks to TR, RGIII, Luck, and Ball for showing the nation how young men should carry themselves.
