Just curious what the experts think. Here's who CS has on the list right now:

Defensive Backs:

:BigA: Commits (2)
Geno Smith - Atlanta, GA. (ALABAMA COMMIT)
Eddie Williams - Panama City, FL. (ALABAMA COMMIT)

* Scholarship Offers *
Deion Belue - Tuscumbia, AL. via (JUCO - Northeast Mississippi CC)
Deion Bonner - Columbus, GA.
Deon Bush - Miami, FL.
Landon Collins - Geismar, LA.
Travell Dixon - Miami, FL. via (JUCO - Eastern Arizona CC)
Tracy Howard - Miramar, FL.
Wayne Morgan - Brooklyn, NY.
Elijah Shumate - Ramsey, NJ.

Does Bama take Dixon (my understanding is Bama leads big), Belue and Collins? That's 5 total along with Fulton, Milliner, Lester (not sure if he goes or stays), Williams, Jabriel Washington, HaHa, Nick Perry, Vinnie, and Bradley Sylve.

Thoughts?

Dixon is definitely a take along with Collins. Belue will be here if he can graduate in time. Cyrus Jones could even play DB, but he is probably more of a slot guy.

Mentioning Cyrus Jones made me remember that Justin Thomas has mentioned playing DB after getting his shot at QB at Bama.

Cyrus Jones has mentioned that Bama is recruiting him as a WR fwiw.

And While in know its not a popular opinion on here, Collins has stated before that Bama is recruiting him as a RB.

of that list I think we end up with Belue (grades willing) Dixon (hard to turn down a JUCO CB who's 6'2 200lbs) Collins, and Cyrus. Most of the DBs we are looking at or have gotten commits from this year are virtually athletes who have shown they can play a number of positions.

Also if I recall, Jabriel Washington has been lining up at WR as well. Christion Jones hasn't really seen the defensive side of the ball they way we thought he would. Sunseri has looked great this year but is in "danger" of growing into a Sam LB in the future. Never a bad idea to bring in athletes who play arguably the hardest position in the game to fill in other spots.

If the questions is "5" , then my answer is that at least 5 will have the opportunity . Of couse this doesn't mean all of them will stay in the secondary either . I believe at least 2 must remain at CB though .

I wasn't asking if we take 5 so to speak. I was just listing the guys I know of that are DB prospects that Bama is high on (or player is already committed). Add those 6 or 7 (Jones/Thomas) to what we have... That's a good many members of the secondary.

CB is a tough spot to fill. You need three that can play for certain packages before you have injuries. I think safety is an easier positiown to fill.

I think we add Belue, Dixon, and definitely Collins if he goes with the Tide. I hear Bush really likes UA but will probably end up at the Barn because we may be slow playing him waiting on others, but we will be fine. IN regards to Collins at RB I doubt he plays anywhere besides DB, but that is my opinion.

We have returning Sunseri, Lester, and Milner who all have experience. To add to that we have Ha-Ha and Fulton. So 5 players that can and will contribute next year if they all stay. Dixon if he signs with us will be a starter from day 1. He is more polished coming out of JUCO than Menzie was, which makes me very happy based on how good Menzie is. Also I thnk EW will get a look at offense first. EW is an impact player next year for the Tide and could play either side of the ball.

The scary part for the rest of the teams in the SEC and country is our secondary in 2 years may be better than it is this year and that is saying alot.

I respectfully disagree. I believe he remains at safety and will be an all-american at that position.

i said it was an unpopular opinion. Take a look back at what position we were all certain that the Staff wanted Brent Calloway at this time a year ago.....now he's a RB, and why? because that"s what got him on campus. Wasnt a guarantee just something Collins has mentioned that we should at least keep in mind.

With the graduation and leaving early in our secondary, I see us taking both Dixon and Belue (if he graduates in Dec) since both are JUCO and experienced which we will need. I am hoping we get Collins and call it a day with those three. I think we take Bush if we miss on Dixon or Belue does not graduate.

I agree about Dixon, Collins, and Belue. Jones is listed as an ATH in the prospect list and as you said he will most likely play on offense as a slot receiver.

If we land Collins....WOW.. This kid no doubt is special. I hear talk he may play RB, I sure hope not.

I watched Jalston Fowler play a few games in high school and thought he was a great back.

He played as a true freshman at LB his first year at UA. I was hoping to see him get a chance to run the ball.

I hope Landon turns out the same way. What ever position he plays he'll be just fine. And we will be the better for it.

This is Christmas time you know. I can always wish. Merry Christmas everyone. RTR and hope he rolls with the Tide.

I am not sure if the stuff about UA being 3rd is true or not with Dixon. I just read on one of their boards they fell FSU is behind even with him getting ready visit. They just offered his team mate Juco CB Mohammed "Mo" Seisay last week. They are only trying to add one more DB and most of their fans believe Seisay is the one now. I guess we will see.

Just saw on a FSU board that Dixon and Mohammed Seisay canceled their visit to FSU this weekend. And that Mohammed Seisay has dropped FSU and is only considering Neb or Ark now. Apparantly FSu is holding out for T Howard and do not want a commit from Seisay. Hopefully with Dixon no longer taking a visit to FSU it only helps us out. I can not see him going to Miami over UA if we still want him.
