I am ashamed! I pulled for Auburn!!!!!!

Sorry fellow TideFans. As much as I dislike Auburn, once that game got started I got to thinking: I would really like for anybody to beat Auburn, but if they lose, the conference loses and we lose. So, I found myself pulling for them. In fact, I find myself pulling for every SEC team in the bowls.

Could I say some "Hail Mary's" or do some other kind of penance to atone for my sin?

Not shocking when you are a barner.

I'm not I pulled for the Barn as well and I am pulling for UThug to win as well as the rest of the SEC gives the conference more clout when it comes to chest thumping and recruiting outside the states of the SEC. Think Texas!

You're about 15 years behind on that logic. That way of thinking is out the door.

Auburn and Tennessee winning does nothing for ALABAMA in recruiting, etc. If anything, it hurts more than helps.

Nice icon...lol.

The point I am trying to make is if all the other SEC teams start loosing all out of conference games like some want then the SEC will no longer be as strong.

Even in its weakest year, the SEC would still probably be the 3rd best conference. You don't have to worry about us "falling off the map." I want the SEC to be successful, but I care more about what Alabama does than anything.

I agree with you Dixiedawg, it is good for the SEC to win against out of conference schools. What good would it do for Bama to dominate the SEC if the SEC was considered a weak conference because they could not beat out of conference teams. Of course we want to get to the top of the SEC but we also want to get to the top nationally, that comes by being at the top of the best conference that wins against the other big conferences, not loose to the other big conferences. To be the best you need to beat the best not the least. Lets look at the big picture.

That's absolutely ridiculous.

I'm really getting sick of this SEC love-fest.

I pulled for the Buzzards but chose to watch a "Smallville DVD". SEC is why. I even pulled for the pumpkin eaters. Same reason. And hearing the talking heads it already paying off with the SEC doing well. Go tebow and the tebowlites. This Smallville isn't a bad show, I never watched it before and got all the shows on DVD for Christmas.

You sir are one sick dude...I'm sorry but admitting to pulling for Autard and Ucheat is like admitting you like to make love with small animals and kidnap small children. You should be ashamed and banned for life! The SEC can do well with the 2 biggest cheaters in the SEC losing their bowl Games!

All I have to say is I watched the Independence Bowl at Buffalo Wild Wings in Columbus, GA Sunday night, and ironically enough, all the UGA and 'Bama (of course) fans were pulling for Alabama while all the OPI Cowgirls and Boys were cheering like maniacs for Colorado. That finalized my decision on wether I'd be pulling for the ENTIRE SEC (OPI) or not.

Needless to say any human being with more than half a brain could tell you the conclusion to this story.

I was hoping for a Bama victory and thought it would be nice for MSU, Ark, UK, and UGA to win their games. I was neutral on UF because I don't care for Michigan either. I'm sort of torn on LSU because I don't care to see other SEC teams win a National Championship, but I don't like Ohio State either. As for Auburn and Tennessee, I would have been pleased if they had lost 100 - 0. I'm not an SEC fan (but I like the SEC more than any other conference), I'm an Alabama fan. And I absolutely despise Auburn and Tennessee.

You should be ashamed :biggrin2:. To me, the SEC teams in bowls is a win/win situation. If they win, good for the SEC, if they lose, I won't lose any sleep over it.

You should be punished extensively. I suggest that as pennance you should read AU and UT sports forums for a week.

Hey, I didn't even watch their games. I watched Smallville, did you bashers watch. I like to see at the end of the bowl season when they show which conference does the best? I'm sorry but the vols/buzzards are in our conference. Did I pull for them, no I watched Clark Kent.

I watched the chicken bowl, and I laughed my butt off the whole game, at least until the chop block. I was really hoping that Tommy Bowden could get a little revenge for his little brother on the cow college, but Tubby's dirty playbook kept that from happening.

All I can say is one of Tubby's lackeys is gonna pull that chop block crap on the wrong guy one day, and they are going to be sorry that they did it. :BigA:

Nothing wrong with Cheering for the Barners in their bowl game

I disagree that its bad for Bama if the other teams in the SEC are winning.

The pac 10 - its one team, its USC.

The Big 10 - its 2 teams, OSU and Michigan.

The SEC - how many teams have National titles in the past 30 years? Amazing!

I personally get more satisfaction seeing a team I like beat someone good. I would like to see Bama beat a good Tubs squad to end the streak. Beat them with a good disciplined Saban team. EARN IT! I want the game on national TV and to mean something. You get respect by playing good competition. Thats why we know the pac 10 sucks

I dont live in alabama thou, and i know pashion in this rivalary is different that what i have experienced.
