I got Shula’s back. I can’t believe the whining and negative remarks I see about Coach Shula. These are the times I become embarrassed being an Alabama fan. Too many Monday morning quarterbacks.

Marc G. will do a fine job at QB.

Let’s here from those that will support our team and coach.

yeah.... i wouldn't have left Brodie in the game after BAMA was up by 28 points, but, then again, i don't blame Shula for Brodie getting hurt. that's just ridiculous. Brodie made the wrong decision when he tried to cut upfield. that's just how the cookie crumbles sometimes. Maybe BC will be able to get back by the SECCG or the bowl game.

Marc will do just fine, and Pennington is a good 'un as well. With the running game Alabama has, the QB just needs to minimize on mistakes, and BAMA will win plenty of games.

also... look at the bright side. Arkansauce has no idea how to prepare for Marc or Spence, specifically.

ROLL TIDE ROLL, BABY!!!! WOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Absolutely!

Brodie's injury had nothing to do with Coach Shula, it had to do with the fact that FOOTBALL PLAYERS GET HURT. Brodie's injury was even a non-contact injury. He planted just the wrong way and POP there goes the ACL. It wasn't "a mental error," a "coaching error," or an error at all...if just happened. Could've happened last night, last week, next week...you don't get to pick the time. ACL's pop because they are inherently vulnerable ligaments (some people's are more vulnerable than others' it seems). It's unfortunate for Brodie, and the team will feel his absence on the field, but I have every confidence in our guys, our coaches, and our ability to keep on keepin' on.

Now bring on that SEC road trip!
Here piggy piggy! :biggrin2:

I do not blame Shula or anyone else for this, including Brodie. It is just how things happen. He said himself he felt it go when he tried to plant and turn. That could have happened at any time in any game. . Never mind the fact that it was with a 31-0 lead against the Catamounts. That knee was probably going to do that sometime anyway. What if it had happened in the first quarter next week against the Razorbacks? Where would we be then? Guillon would be out on the field without the reps he needed to be prepared for this game. As much as I hate it that Croyle is hurt at all, at least the timing of it was not as bad as it could have been.

I second that!

Me too, me too, me too...and I'm not going to go off on one of my tears about sending mail to the team to encourage & let them know we're all behind them - but then again, if it occurs to you... :)

Backing Shula

We are backing Coach Sula in what ever he decides. Brodie coud have been hurt in practice. He could have stepped off a curb and been injured. Accidents are Accidents.Be thankful we have two Qb's that are there at the University and not some where else. Roll Tide

I don't want to get too technical...

but a very large majority of no-contact ACL injuries share a common anatomical knee anomaly. It's the reason so many people who've had one no-contact ACL injury go on to injure the other knee. (I have it, even though my ACL injury was contact-related). If he has this particular anomaly, then he was at high risk anyway. Although he might have gotten away with it for an entire career, the probability of it's happening was high, and, when one adds in his disregard for his own bodily safety, it's sort of silly to blame the coaches. JMO...

Perfect. This is the attitude we all need to have.

And the team too...

And it's also the attitude and encouragement that the team needs from our loyal support now too...Think about it...

TTT :)

ROLL TIDE !!!!!!

I'm with ya Bamerman. It's not over we still have a Team on the field wearing Crimson & White. We still have a Coach & staff that wants to Win worse than anybody. I've got Coach's back to.

I am behind Shula!!! I have never said I didn't support my coach or my team. But when you think the coaches made a bad call why not say so. Maybe Brodie would have blown his knee out at practice this week. Maybe it was going to happen no matter what. The point is, we were playing a 1-AA school. We were not going to gain valuable lessons against that kind of competition. That is why I call it a coaching mistake. I am a TidePride member. AcrimsonTradition member. I send my money to the University. I love the University of Alabama. Why schedule a high school team to begin with. I don't care about the sactions, I don't care about counting 1-AA school every 4 years as a 1-A win. Have you seen our home schedule for 2006. Folks, it is pitiful. Why do we want to back track on the level of competition. He may look good in the papers on Sunday, but what does our program gain!!!!!!!

Well, it looks like half the board is mad at Shula, and the other half is mad at the first half for being mad at Shula.
A couple of posters seem to have gone the extra mile last night explaining what a dummy Shula is/was, but some of those same posters have stunk up the board before. So it's no surprise.
I'm sticking with Shula. I always thought when it's gut-check time you rallied around. And not to sink daggers in the back.

I am with Coach Shula 100%. Now is the time to rally around the team not point fingers of blame. As others have said, Brodie could have hurt his knee anytime. It happened get over it and move forward. I was devastated but true Bama fans will not whine and blame but will suck it up and back the team.

ROLL TIDE
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shula did what any coach would have done!

Brodie was in the game at the start of the 3rd quarter because HE IS THE STARTING QB FOR BAMA! You would be hard pressed to find a coach that would not have had his starter in. I expected Brodie to be pulled at some point in the 3rd. That's probably when most coaches would have done that in a game that was well in hand. Some would have waited until the 4th. I support Shula and God bless Brodie! :biga:

What IF Bama looses next weekend; are people going to say "If Brodie wasnt hurt, we would have won the game?"

Probably; however, it is just an excuse. Sh*^ Happens in sports. I think Aurbie and Tennessee fans are idiots when they make up excuses. So I am not going to make excuses. If we get beat by Arkansas then they were a better football team that Saturday (We are not going to get beat). Everyone has a right to express their own opinion; however, we many Bama fans start complaining and whining about our coach the national media is going to take it and smear it everywhere. The rest of the football nation will just laugh at us again.

Let's all pull together not apart

I have a couple of questions for all the people that are blaming Brodie's injury on Coach Shula's decision to leave Brodie in the game to start the second half.

Why add insult to injury?

Brodie was left in the game to get more reps. The teeth of the SEC schedule is coming up and he needed more practice at running the offense. Even though he has looked sharp and he has steadily improved over the last few years, there were still areas that he needed to improve in.

Brodie says that the injury was no ones fault. He said it just happened when he was running to the sidelines. Let it rest, and pull for Bama's new starter Marc Guillon and the back-up Spencer Pennington. I am confident they will get the job done.

I distinctly remember August a year ago when Coach Shula signed Marc Guillon that a whole lot of people on this board and Bama Mag said we don't need another QB because we have Brodie. I pointed out that Bama has not had a starting QB go completely through a season without injury in a long while. Last season both Brodie and Spencer both went down and we had the third string QB playing and even starting a game while Marc Guillon sat out his required year for transferring.

Once again unfortunately Brodie is injured and this time he is out for the entire season. So instead of jumping on Coach Shula for keeping Brodie in a game to start the 3rd quarter why don't y'all praise him for the having the precence of mind to go out and get another quality QB after only a couple of months on the job at Bama?
