I bet Thompson got a lesson in who is the real recruiter and Steele got to take the day off...

Lance just thought a divorce cost a lot, wait until he sees what it cost him in the next few years. As far as Steele, well we will just say Clemson is the place real winners want to go...

Players commit to play for Saban, not due to the recruiter that is assigned to their area. I guess Thompson and Steele learned that today. They are great recruiters, but Saban beats them all.

You can't tell this year, because of their late start. We will see next year. I wish
both of them the best...I don't want to come off has being a spoil LSU brat. Right now I am just worry about this team, no other.

CLT cost us Myles IMO, and he lied about not recruiting current UA prospects he was recruiting. He went beyond negative recruiting with his lies about our depth chart, who we were recruiting, and where we would play those recruits. He gets no sympathy from me. I hope one of those hillbillies he shacks up with gives him something Ajax won't take off.

I agree, he made his bed and now he will just have to sleep in it.

I respect him for wanting to better his family income but I have always said that the timing of his move to Ucheat had a purpose and his message to our recruits, (I agree he probably lost us Myles) won't soon be forgotten.

:BigA: RTR!

too early to say xCLT got smacked, and xCLT did get Myles signed out from under us; so who smacked who on that one? Let's see next year. ut is gonna hit the recruiting trail with both barrels blazing and it will be interesting to see/hear what happens.

As far as I know nobody ever accused either of these coaches of unethical tactics when working under CNS. I think it's company policy for them now that work elsewhere. Some of the things Lance is reported to have said and done would have had him fired on the spot under CNS.

Steele isn't really known for his recruiting prowess. He didn't get anyone for us. I'm not sure he was even assigned any recruits. Besides assistants come and go, I'm not angry at Steele at all and the only reason I'm mad at Thompson is for his comments at the UT conference thing and well he took Myles to UT.

Myles is gonna get smacked on that. Poor kid ! His dad is a coach and should have known Saban was the best fit for his son.

Maybe he was not instrumental in collecting this year's class, but before he most definitely was and Kevin is still considered one of THE premiere recruiters in the country. That's one reason he was Saban's first hire two years ago.

Kevin Steele is a good coach and a good man I wish him success and happiness. I don't wish Lance Thompson any bad luck nor good luck. He obviously felt compelled to mimic the personality of his new boss during the recruiting process as evident by his words and behavior.
However when this clown show has run it's course in Knoxville, his biography will be known as an untrustworthy mercenary who hitched his star to a .....

Couldn't have said it better myself. I have no issue with Steele, but Thompson's name is now MUDD in the SEC!

Wait a second, Thompson went from being the greatest recruiter in the country last year in most of our minds to an evil, backstabbing no nothing recruiter?

He's good...lets face it. Tennessee made a great move in hiring him and it will turn up the heat for Alabama recruiting against him.

I don't agree with some of his tactics. Now he cost us Myles? We could only take some 20-22 kids anyway right? We have 27 commits. So did he really cost us Myles? Eventually, it became a numbers game for us.

Without Myles or Massie we still have a helluva class.

The Kiffin's dangled a great deal of money in front of him and I doubt thatthere are very many who would have turned that down. Recruiting is not a game for kiddies and UT did themselves pretty well considering the time in which they had to build a recruiting class.

Many have decried the tactics and not knowing the details, I can only say that kids and parents will catch on pretty quick.

But I have to ask, do you think that CNS used CJW's knowledge, contacts, and information to our advantage once we brought him on staff?

The eight Lance recruited for Alabama could have very well landed him "recruiter-of-the-year" had he stayed. Now everybody in the SEC will draw a bulls-eye on his assigned territory. Da boy sho dug hisself a hole.

It wasn't just the money......................
