That could be because, like so many people, I see and hear what I want/expect to see and hear. Obviously some people are still in love with Pres. Obama, i.e. Chris Matthews still is, but Chris Matthews was in love with Jimmy Carter too, if that tells you anything.

I was struck by how much the President continues to point the finger at the GOP. Of course he rode the BDS wave into the White House, but he won't be able to ride that wave forever. Obviously he believes that he still can, at least for a while.

I was also struck by the way he threw Joe Biden under the bus. Perhaps that's the only way to handle the gaffe-a-minute VP. If anybody can make Dan Quayle look erudite, it's Biden.

I don't know whether or not the questions were known in advance, but the reporters obviously were called in order off a sheet. Either way, he looked pretty mortal in comparison with his usual teleprompter performance.

I was disappointed with the way he rambled on after each question, many times without truly answering it. The rambling ate up the time available for more questions. Call me a fan of the Dick Cheney interview method: "Yes, next question.... No, next question."

I'm going to watch the last half night, but the Q&A seemed very orchestrated. I kept waiting on him to look at the camera and say, "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night Live!" que blazing saxophone.

All of the questions seemed like plants to me. And he had his list so he knew who to call on so as not to be asked anything he didn't want to answer.
I loved it when he blamed the banks for giving loans to people who had no credit, no collateral, and no way to pay it back. I was sitting there screaming at the TV, "YOU AND YOUR CRONIES MADE THEM DO IT YOU MORON!"

LOL:)

There were a few good questions asked but he seemed to answer them in 2-3 different ways and from 2-3 different viewpoints. The 10 minute answer left you wondering what the question actually was.

His seems to actually believe his premise that he began and has carried out this process in bi- partisan fashion. We all know that the bill went directly from Obama to Pelosi and the dems were even complaining that Pelosi shut them out of the process. All of the Republican bill amendments that I have seen voted on in the Senate have been partyline rejections. Reid even cut off Republican Amendments being heard at one point. But Obama repeatedly claimed that it was the republicans that were being partisan.

In sum...

Its not my fault.

I inherited a mess.

I was elected so my plan is best though I didn't write it. Don't look at it just support it so it will pass.

The other guys are being partisans though they created the mess. I had nothing to do w/it though I was in the Senate. I was busy helping Blago.

I know, I know, my VP is a moron and I have no clue what he is talking about and neither does he.

Next question.

You are not to question The Messiah.

But since you have I will add this:

Very interesting that Ed Schultz of Air America radio fame and Helen Thomas were both given front row seats to the Party. If you've ever heard Schultz on the radio, he routinely busts blood vessels shouting and screaming about his seething hatred over Dick Cheney. I was beginning to wonder where Randi Rhodes and Cher were.

With the Spendulus Package looming, I wouldn't be surprised to see some reporter throw their shoes at The Messiah. But with that room full of Lefty plants, The Messiah was as snug as a bug in a rug. :)

I thought the President did a masterful job of conveying to me how good of shape the country and myself are in. I felt so much better after his speech and I know that I am in good hands with him, similar to my insurance with Allstate...oops... forgot Allstate pulled out of the state of Florida. Well, you get the picture.

He is a long-legged mackdaddy... and he is my hero.

Talk about a man who loves to hear himself talk.
And that distinguishes him from any other politician how, exactly?

exbama21--I would have paid good money if Obama had responded to the A-roid question with a Saban-esque pimpslap. "Cause that reporter deserved one.

VJ--since you were paying attention to the reporter seating, were there any former male gay prostitutes in the press corps lobbing softballs (as opposed to soft balls)? :eek2:

eh eh, if I only had a dime for every time someone responded to a complaint about Dubya that way.
With Dubya, is was more the comedians who loved to hear him talk.

Make the Pie Higher

I think we all agree, the past is over.
This is still a dangerous world.
It's a world of madmen
And uncertainty
And potential mental losses.

Rarely is the question asked
Is our children learning?
Will the highways of the internet
Become more few?
How many hands have I shaked?

They misunderestimate me.
I am a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity.
I know that the human being and the fish
Can coexist. Too many OB-GYNs
aren't able to practice their love
with women all across this country.

Families is where our nation finds hope
Where our wings take dream.
Put food on your family!
Knock down the tollbooth!
Vulcanize society!
Make the pie higher!
Make the pie higher!

Sort of like all the other politicians....

Summary of the Bush administration:

Artificially low interest rates and massive government spending ..... a temporary booming economy ..... like a junkie on amphetamines ..... but it can't last forever; with the artificial high comes the prolonged crash (instead of an eight-hour sleep) .....

Summary of Obama's plan:

Artificially low interest rates and massive government spending ...... :conf2::conf2::conf2: ....... the politicians are going to kill the patient.

Its funny how people can actually create a distinction between the two group. And do it with a straight face.
