There is a poster "RichmondInsider" who's posted on "Gopherhole.com" that Grant is interviewing tomorrow. The other posters on that site say this guy is a troll with no inside connections at all. Since it'll land on this board sooner or later, I thought I'd head it off. The other opportunities Grant has had are better than then Gophers...
I looked at the board and they seem well acquainted with his act. Their board looked like a nice enough place (in two minutes of clicking around), but I'm glad a thread like that would be blasted before it ever got started here, thanks to our mods.

On a side note, they didn't sound too excited about the prospect of Grant going there.

On their football board, there is a thread about our game with Wisconsin. I never knew there was a Wisconsin-Minnesota rivalry, but looks like we'll have the Gopher fans in our corner that day.

If they want CAG so bad then we just hire Tubby. He is not a bad coach he did win a national championship and actually had Georgia competeing in Basketball.
No thanks. I think in some ways he is a good coach but he strikes me as someone that isn't willing to outwork other coaches to get beyond a certain level. Plus the fact that one of his sons (Saul?) started at PG for him was a big turnoff because that kid was marginal SEC talent at best.

Stevens is staying at Butler sources are saying (UCLA had offered)... No real surprise here, as they are no longer a mid-major really, and will be part of the new catholic conference which will get high major treatment.

If Tubby couldn't win at Kentucky, what makes you think he could win at Bama? He's weak in recruiting.

I wouldn't want Tubby Smith. He's a solid coach who would get us nowhere but to fringe NCAAT participation.

I have more belief in Grant getting this thing rolling into something more down the line than Tubby Smith getting us over the hump.

i wouldnt say he's a weak recruiter. minnesota is a tough sell in college basketball.
When I think Minnesota, I think of a place that is very cold and very white. Not exactly good demographics to recruit basketball players.

You guys act like CAG is a bad coach. I just don't understand. I have been following Alabama basketball since CCMN. The facts are none of our coaches took us to the final four. One took us to the elite eight. It is not that easy. We haven't even won a NIT championship.

Like I said about Smith, he goes to Texas Tech...a program that isn't interested in championship contention but went with another "win the introductionary press conference" hire.
