I'm leaving soon for Basic...

Make us all proud, Lieutenant. Be strong, pour it on, never forget where you came from and above all else - never ever let them see you sweat.

Hooah. :PDT_Armataz_01_42:

What about AIRBAMA since you plan to go airborne.

Thanks for serving. My wife and I both served in the mid 60's.

Well, personally I like "AirForceTider".

Good luck. The military has been wonderful for me for 12 years. Prior enlisted then turned to the dark side 4 years ago! Even got to get my degree at Bama!

Have fun with PT, folding, running, ironing, running, shining, running, not sleeping, runnning, hearing the footsteps coming, running, reveille, running, retreat, running, running, and oh, running.

It's more than worth it and you'll enjoy it all...later. Good Luck and ROLL TIDE!

Ahh, I left a lot of sweat under the pine trees at Sand Hill, then moved across base and went through Airborne school. That was many years ago and I never regretted the time I spent at Fort Benning; a top notch Army base. I can tell you, it will be tough, but you will look back on the experience with great memories.

I can't think of an appropriate name, but best wishes and thanks for your service to our country.

Mods, this is probably not the correct forum for this but since this is where I most visit, I thought it would, for the time being, belong here. Feel free to move it when you feel necessary.

This coming Tuesday, I will be in Knoxville. The following day, I leave for Ft. Benning to do my Basic Combat Training. I will remain there after I graduate to enter Officer Candidate School.

I was asked a couple of months ago if I wanted to change my screenname because it is obsolete but could not come up with one. I'd like it to relate to the Army somehow. So, I'm asking for some suggestions.

Also, I'd like to thank ALL of you for providing such a great site for all things BAMA related. This is a first class site moderated by first class people. I'm as big of a BAMA fan as anyone and I'm likely to not visit this site near as often as I'd like. So, I'd like to thank all of you for all that you do and I will do you proud!!

I pray that you are protected.
I am grateful for your service to the USA.

Best of luck. how about---Sand Hill Tider---? or maybe Harmony Church Tider? I remember my basic trng. there on Sand Hill like it was yesterday. E-3-1 battle hard infantry, hard core Sir.

Thanks for your service to our country. Stay in touch.

How about "Rookie Trooper"for jump school.
Or if you wind up in the 82nd "Geronimo".
Or maybe 82AA-BAMA. (AA for "All American")

You will make us proud.

I just completed OCS there a little more than a year ago. Do you know which company you are getting. I hope its Bravo, they were the best. I did airborne school shortly afterwards and then one day after graduating that, I moved across post and did Ranger school. I went about the same time of year you are too, the summers there are a killer! Learn the OCS alma mater song...Far across the chatahoocee, to the Upatoi...LOL! Lordy I hated that!!!

We'll miss you, Pummel...Roll Tide, and post when you can!:BigA:
Good luck and thanks for your service. I agree, BamaBrass sounds pretty good.

Here's wishing you all the best, PF.

My son, BamaJama17 leaves June 22nd for a 13 week "summer camp" in Parris Island, SC himself.

Apparently they offer a full range of interesting activities for their campers..:)

I've been in the Army for almost six years and I am stationed at Ft. Benning as an Airborne Instructor. If I can help you with anything let me know.

I'll have to think about the name thing.

Black hats were a hoot when I went to jump school.
At the malfunctions class, inevitably, a students will ask how long a jumper with a total malfunction has to pull his ripcord on his reserve parachute.
The black hats were waiting for this question. They said, "You have the rest of your life."

We were 30 seconds late for training one day during tower week and the blackhats made us get into one giant circle, face in to the center of the circle, then right face, bend forward at the waist, and take a step backwards.
Then the blackhat told us, "Now that you have pulled your heads out of your [backsides], let's do a few push-ups. Half-right face! Front leaning rest position, move!"
Ah, the memories.

Thank you for stepping forward, PF (yeah, you need to get rid of that). During my enlisted service I had several names for the officer cadre, but...

Anyway, the name change will soon be far removed from your thoughts. Do well, my friend, and give it your all.

My birthday, my Alma Mater, and my home campus!

The Camp Counselors are quite insightful, as well.
