Question: Incarcerating a president

Let’s say Trump is convicted of something. How exactly would you imprison a former president?

As a high profile inmate, you couldn’t put him in general population. What about secret service protection? Would they follow him to prison for protection? Would they be armed?

Obviously, state and federal prisons are different as well as the level of security.

I expect the costs required to update and maintain new grounds for this would likely be time and cost prohibitive.

My guess is Tidewater's idea is closest to accurate.

if the feds didn't take it from him, i doubt he'd be able to hold on to it very long

As far as Georgia goes, Kemp would likely pardon him (so many NSFTF words I could use to describe Kemp) so if convicted there, any sentence there is moot.
More important to me, above all else, is that he lose all his money. Christie said yesterday he’s burning through so much cash that his 40 million (to this point) in legal fees will break him because fighting these court cases and running for President are becoming unsustainable, financially.
I just want him penniless; Melania will leave him and those doors he opened by lying about his wealth back in his twenties will close. I want to see him actually have to work to eat.

the georgia governor doesn't have pardon power, it rests in a board (appointed by the governor). if my count is correct, kemp has only appointed two of the five members

Georgia is one of the three states whose governor does not have the authority to grant clemency, although the governor retains indirect influence by virtue of his power to appoint board members.

Very doubtful. Military bases are chaotic enough without an additional security detail like secret service involved.
