He went out with the broken foot in the Georgia game four weeks ago. He had surgery the following day. Generally the time line on fracture healing is about 6 weeks, even with surgery. And much of that is dependent on the type of fracture. Without knowing this, it is difficult to say.

I know initial reports after the Georgia game said he might be back for the Auburn game and possibly the SECCG if we made it that far. And certainly back for the playoffs in that scenario.

He’s making great progress and you can see it, even in his face, he’s feeling good about the direction it’s going and can’t wait to get back out there.”

So it seems that CKD indicates Qua will be back this season. It will be six weeks since his surgery on November 8th (LSU). CKD said he is ahead of schedule. The initial post surgery timeline had him “maybe” back by Auburn or SECCG, but certainly back by the playoffs if we make it.

I don’t think we’ll see him next week against LSU but possibly by Oklahoma or Eastern Illinois. Without knowing what type fracture it’s hard to predict. I just know we really need him for this final stretch.

Coach DeBoer said,

“I expect those guys to be ready to go for LSU,” DeBoer said. “Lotty (Lotzeir Brooks) was especially rolling out there today and making good progress. Isaiah just got dinged up there in the first half of the game and making good progress.”

At this point, Horton and Brooks are just as important , if not more so than Qua. Rico played great this year in rotation, but as the man he wasn’t the same vs USCe. Good to see Meadows playing, he needs playing time to get over that horrible hit IMO.

On several Rico targets by Ty it looked the timing was off on those passes. May be due to Ty and Rico not getting the reps since WR1s get more of those. Losing Brooks and Horton (in the 2nd half) againsts the Cocks was probably one of the main reasons the offense looked clunky last week.

Or Ty was being rushed by their defense. Ty is quick to release the ball. But the OL needs to give him at least 3 seconds.
