i may be a dumb A** but their offense on sat. night didn't look good at all.but yet i was listening to espn in the herd or whatever its called and these so called experts were saying ,oh ND's offense will be just fine.now can you imagine if we were ranked 3 in the country and only scored 14 against anybody we played how bad these idiots would blast us.some teams according to the experts can do no wrong and most teams can do no right.i'll bet one thing ,if our team comes together like i think they will ,will get some peoples attention by the end of the season and i'm not talking about experts either.because even though we did not look that sharp sat.
night i did see a lot of potential.

It's Notre Dame. They're still getting love by many writers, and will have to lose atleast two games before the "bloom is off their rose". Fortunately, they still have to play Penn St., Michigan, and USC. Unfortunately, they'll probably beat Penn St, and an over-rated Michigan team. Either way, we'll be hearing some pathetic ND hype the rest of the season, and even if they do lose two games they'll still be in a BCS game. It seems to never change.

I think what most people are looking at is last year. ND has nearly everyone back from what was a dang good offensive team in '05. I guarantee you that if they continue to struggle for the next 2 or 3 games there will be people wondering aloud about the Irish. They'll still be voted very high, but there will be some muttering.

They had a sluggish opening game...I think their offense will be just fine...Weiss is a great offensive coach...Brady is very good...Samarja (sp?) is very good...Jackson (I think) is very good...I don't think people should jump ship of the Irish offensive bandwagon based on the one game...if they struggle this week, jump off and abandon ship, but I think they'll be good

Great defense usually trumps a great offense. Georgia Tech has proven over the last few years to get up for the best teams on their schedule. 2-0 vs. Auburn, a couple of near misses vs. UGA, win vs. Miami...and in all of those games it has been their defense that has carried the team.

I'd be shocked if ND averaged fewer than 32 points a game this year. They have a great offense...it just happens that they opened up their season against one of the better coached D's in the country. John Tenuta is right up there with Joe Kines as far as defensive coordinator's go.

Notre Dame is the greatest team ever. If they go 0-12, its because the 12 teams that beat them should be ranked 1 through 12 respectively. Therefore, Notre Dame should always be ranked 13th or higher every single year. Ok, you're brainwashing is complete :)

I think the "cool" thing to do is to hop on the bandwagon of the team with the tough schedule. ND has a tough schedule. The announcers would like for them to be a powerhouse. That way it would be ND vs. Underdog U. week after week. Underdog U. in a stunning upset over the powerful Irish. Who would not want to see that?

Notre Dame is probably the team of the decade. Brady will win the H. Trophy. N.D. will win the BCS Championship Game. Their schedule is tougher than nails. Beating Georiga Tech (the second best team in the nation) was no small feat.

Urban Meyer is the love child of Beano Cook and Notre Dame.

He was named after Pope Urban, who introduced the spread option to the Holy Roman Empire. The Holy Roman Crusaders went 15-0 in the year of our lord 1372, winning the medieval.com Wood bowl over the Nordic Pagans by a score of 6 to 3. The victors took home the coveted hand-carved wood dish and then beheaded the losing team for holding orgies with fire-eyed demons and cloven-hoofed ogres.

The Domers don't play a tough schedule. Their four games leading to USC are Navy, North Carolina, Air Force and Army. (I guess the Coast Guard Academy couldn't be squeezed in.)

I didn't realize this was an Irish board............ Personally I was never on their ship, to afraid I'd drown, I don't think their ships could compare with the ship called 'THE CRIMSON TIDE'........not for me anyway!!

LOL. Think they were being sarcastic.

Only the Citadel would have made the military school campaign complete. If you can call it that.

LMAO, an instant classic.

Agreed - they only play 3 teams that are ranked this year.

Bama is slated to play at least 4...

Y'all missed some of the obvious reasons why ND struggled:

1.Beating ND would've made GT's season.......it's not like they play Miami, FSU, or Georgia.........

2. GT spent the whole fall practice preparing for ND.......it's not like they are in a premiere conference or anything.........

3. Everybody always gets ND's best effort.................it's not like GT had any more games to play this year...........

I think that covered just about all of them now.

Gotta love the Irish.

Haven't you heard? Notre Dame has already won the NC, & Quinn has already won the Heisman. Weis will miraculously catch & pass Paterno & Diddy this year. How could anyone have missed all of this?

(heavy sarcasm alert...)

To quote my late step-Dad, I never have liked ND, & I always will...
