  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. But Grossi also says

“At this time, no one, including the IAEA, is in a position to have fully assessed the underground damage at Fordow,” he said. “Given the explosive payload utilized and the extreme vibration-sensitive nature of centrifuges, very significant damage is expected to have occurred.”

So it’s basically “Wait until the full independent reports come out and don’t believe Trump, Netanyahu, or the Ayatollah when they talk about the damage”
Which is perfectly fine and acceptable - but Fetterman is right - there are those who so hate trump that they've been positively gloating over the idea that the bombing was a failure.

Last night, I was combing through Youtubes on the Fordow attack, and, as usual, 97% were some guy without much background blathering. One, however, caught my eye and it dovetails with the additional information released this morning. This guy purported to have both a military background and also in nuclear engineering. He said that thousands of centrifuges running generate heat and a lot of it and that makes a lot of sense, when you think about it. He said that the two ventilation tunnels were each several meters in diameter. I was thinking much smaller. He went on to analyze the "spoil" around the entrance holes, even hitting the point that the white deposits around one indicated that concrete had been hit. He said that the grouping and the size of the entrance holes indicated they had dead centered each shaft. He said that it wasn't necessary that they penetrate all the way to the operations area, the shockwave would have been enough to wreck the interior. I'm now a lot more optimistic about the attack itself. Of course, none of this bears on other factors like the amount of material removed before the attack, the Iranians' claim that they have a new, untouched, facility, etc...
