Jamarcus Russell's necklace

Not that I expect any of you to be convinced, as I am not entirely convinced myself, but the necklace represents his record label, Bama Boy. I don't get the elephant thing, but he is free to do what he wants.
 
It's just sort of baffling. What if the year Alexander went pro he was seen with major bling around his neck that said, "Kentucky Boy" with a wildcat in the middle. Same thing. No, that's not his personality, but that's not the issue. How would Bama fans react? SA didn't consider KY so maybe Derrick Thomas with a Miami U would be a better analogy. Regardless, it's just sort of strange.

I haven't seen anyone comment on the OSU guy grabbing the necklace and saying something about Alabama (state of). Anyone recall what he said?

I totally agree with you. Some on here tend to think it's not that odd, but I for one, do. Yeah, it's his feelings and he can do as he pleases, but it doesn't take away the fact that it's a little "off". There's no way around that. Excuse me while I go put on my Penn State necklace (since I like Joe Pa and all).
 
He's talked about it before and I mentioned what he said last night. I'm not going to keep on repeating it as newer folk log on (and some who just seem to want to keep on talking about it keep stirring). The thread has just about lived out its life...
 
Let me clrify a few things about this necklace. This necklace has nothing to do with the LSU feud that everyone is talking. He purchased that necklace early last year. I have personal pics with me and him wearing the chain, and trust me he didn't do it because of any feud.

The stories have been out there . While I can't cite the names at the moment , there have been multiple ...... nevermind :rolleye2: If you look hard enough , you'll find them .

I think Jamarcus is showing respect to the state of Alabama and the Crimson Tide as well (probably was a fan growing up and has respect for Saban). Would it be weird if I was on the other side? Sure, but if Alabama just won a NC would I care about the garb of a former player?
