Jameis Winston accused of shaving points against Louisville

The points shaving was for a FIRST HALF bet only. The friend of Jameis bet on Louisville for the first half. The fact that FSU won by a touchdown is irrelevant. ;) As bad as FSU played, you can see how this is highly suspicious.

Not to mention some of the bad throws in the first half that were intercepted and should have been intercepted.

Never heard of a first half bet before. Going beyond Jamies lack of character, that sounds pretty stupid and pointless.

No man, it's ingenious. You're friend gets a take on the first half bet, and you're both more than two-grand richer. Then, you get to be hero in the second half.

Eh, I dunno...

This is from the story.

If his high school buddy placed an uncharacteristically large wager on the first half line that's pretty suspicious, right? But on the other hand it seems incredibly stupid to undertake this much risk for $5k when Winston will make $5 million in a few months.

But this is James Winston we are talking about. Why did he steal $20(?) crab legs when he is going to making $5 million in a few months too? The same argument can me made for that, yet he did it anyway.

Would I be surprised by this? Yes. Not by the fact that he would do something like this. I could easily see him doing it. I would be surprised by the complete and utter stupidity of it. Of course, sociopaths don't operate along the same lines of reasoning as the rest of us when it comes ethics, empathy, or societal norms either.

Whatever the case, it means nothing until someone can prove a "money trail" just like with the autographs.

You can bet on the coin toss for goodness sake.

Just did an interview a few weeks ago on the pervasiveness of sports gambling, problem gambling and gambling addiction in our area. Asked the question of the interviewer: "Ever listen to sports talk radio? How far along in the discussion until "the line" or "the total" is broached?" Not only can you bet on the coin toss, there are actually lines, spreads and totals being developed for high school games in some areas. They recently broke up a gambling ring in Miami that was taking bets on pee-wee (youth) football games. And the league commissioner was in it up to his eyeballs with the bookies.

I don't think it's unreasonable to believe that FSU players were getting the hookup on crablegs at that Publix, much less Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston. Word is someone there wasn't aware of the hookup that day. Suppose Winston isn't the only one that's walked out of there with crablegs.

Although he must have been point shaving against N.C. State too.... and Notre Dame...

I wondered the same thing.

That's pretty much a good working definition of "sociopath." It's why guys like Cam and Jameis can operate seemingly undeterred while the world crashes down around them. You'll hear commentators talk about how they have ice in their veins, but it's really a disorder. Frightening.

Sounds legit but how could they ever prove that?? Just another bad deed on a long list.
