I don't know Carter's status. Do we have any other Spring 2010 targets? According to Scout, we have not made an offer to Luke Cothron. Is he still a prospect for us?

The rumblings are that Jason Carter will sign with Alabama. He certainly would fill a need for the program.

As an aside, I've heard more statements/rumors/lies regarding academic difficulties with some of the top basketball recruits this year than any year I can remember. Which to me means that there is a ton of misinformation or a large amount of talented high school players that are not getting the job done in the classroom.

One thread, Langford and Cothron won't qualify. The other thread, let's start worrying about Barbee's recruiting. I like this thread better, though I hope the guys that "won't qualify" don't talk guys that will into coming to the cow college. I guess I'm not worried because I figure there is a method to AG's madness. Because from our armchairs, we think "Surely he's not that stupid, we need big men, yada yada". I'm thinking he's not stupid, he knows what we need, etc. I'll ride it out, Barbee be danged...

there are people on other forums saying Carter has committed to Alabama. I don't think you can say that for sure yet (although all signs point to him coming to Tuscaloosa) because nothing official is out there on any of the sites.

This is the closest thing I've seen, an espn Ole Miss affiliate guy saying that although its still a bit unclear most experts believe Carter has committed to us.

if you have a hard time finding him on rivals its cause he was expected, until recently to go to prep school next year so he's listed with the 2011 prospects (he's listed as the 107th best prospect there which is around the same area Hankerson is this year) but he got his grades in order and his recruitment really picked up recently.

He's supposed to be a bit of a 3 point shooter for a big guy and yeah we don't exactly have a ton of those.
