Jersey Changes?

Bobo, good for you. It's nice to know that some youth still value tradition.

To change our uniforms would be akin to Frank Sinatra trying to rap.
Thanks. I very much believe that our tradition will carry us. It is emphatic that our players and coaches realize and understand(and I know Shula does) that our tradition will help us.:BigA: We will be back on top again! Look at the statistics!.

Leave them as they are. Of course a throwback jersey for one game would be alright. UFart's doing it, Texas and some others did it last season. It doesn't mean we have to follow, but you know.....

Since this is the 40th Anniversary of the 1966, they can wear the same style as they did in 1966, or would Bama just be wearing the usual uniforms? The White Helmets might be cool for a throw back game.

No changes...ever.

I wouldn't mind seeing the white helmets come back for ONE game, but the uniforms should never change.
That would be cool for white helmets to come back but our jerseys are Crimson. Besides, our helmets only changed because of poor lighting in the stadiums. It helped our quarterback better recognize our receiver.:BigA:

The helmet is the one thing I truly love about this uniform...do some minor changes to the jersey like putting the full name ALABAMA on the front but nothing else....
No.

This is ALABAMA football.

You see the uniform, you know it's Bama. Period. Let the wannabees put the school name on the jersey.

We don't need it.

Agreed. The plainness of our uniforms is part of the BAMA mystique.

A couple of years ago ESPN or CBS did a preseason show and the particular topic at the time was who had the worst uniforms in college football. I cannot remember the interviewer but the interviewee was a young woman editor from Glamour magazine, a young woman's monthly mag. Anyway, she responded Oregon, Miami, Tennesee (when they had the black trim), and Syracuse. The interviewer then asked her, "Well then who has the best uniforms in college football?" Her response: "Well, there is only one. They are the GQ of college football- The University of Alabama." Guys this is no b.s! She went on to say our guys looked like well dressed men in tuxedos. The only change I would ever make would be to take the freakin' names off the back of the jersey's and to put numbers on the sleeves like we had in the 60's. Incidentally I have a Snake Stabler throwback I wear to all the games, and people compliment me all the time.
