Anyone else think Jordan Jefferson would play that well? I hate the kid got hurt and hope he makes it back next week. It looks to me like those last 2 games were no fluke. I wish him and them well the rest of the season.

I thought he played pretty well in a "big game" environment. They seemed to miss him offensively and looked confused on offense at times, after he went out. But I thought Lee didn't do terribly bad in his place, but its clear he was a bit rusty. And yes Scott played well I thought.

Slightly off topic but...what happened to the big Oline/RB convert we were supposed to see for LSU?

Yeah, I was surprised. I was waiting for a pick from him... never got it, as we know.

I'm not sure he was really doing anything to display great personal talent though, just kind of taking what was there and not screwing up.

Very nice words. I said it in another thread the other day, and I'll say it again. The minute LSU went away from the "Check with me" or "Meerkat" offense crap, the offense finally was able to get some rythym going. Jefferson is very talented, although he has a slow release and is uncomfortable in the pocket. They finally seem to be putting him in a position to use his mobility...even though he's not really a running QB. He is improving week by week, and is heads and shoulders better than what was on the field last season. I look forward to next year...but quite frankly, I look forward to the rest of this year. I don't think anyone expected LSU to do better than 10-2, or even 9-3 this year. Looks like that's what we'll do...and I'm OK with that this year.

I said in another thread how I worried about the middle of the field since Hightower's injury. Once the pass rush arrives the QB's who get into that seem can cause Bama some serious problems with their feet like Jeff. did tonight or slants that worked for UT. I'm not nearly as worried when Rolondo stays put but Woodall seemed to have some really poor tackle attempts (more hit and hope they fall as opposed to wrapping them up).

I was shocked that he didn't come back in. He didn't seem like he was hurt that badly. Anybody know exactly what it was. Sprained ankle?

Jefferson played a whale of a game today, and he looked much better than he did earlier in the year.

He's a very interesting guy, and his upside is undeniable. He's a legitimate dual threat, he has the size you want in a pocket passer, and he has the arm to make any throw. Obviously he still needs to develop some more, but the raw potential is there for him to be a bona fide star.

It's going to take one hell of a defense to slow him down when his junior and senior years roll around.

Jefferson was really hurting us on the option today before he went out. He seemed very poised too, as it was quite loud at times today. Too bad for LSU.

I agree that he was playing well, but at the same time he seemed to me to be playing a bit scared, trying hard to avoid getting hit. For a bigger QB, I was surprised to see him ducking out of bounds and slinking away from contact rather than lowering his shoulder more. I know self-preservation is smart football, especially for a QB so maybe that's what was happening. I guess I've just grown accustomed to Tebow and even G-Mac playing with a more aggressive style.

I think he has the tools to be a heck of a QB but he needs to get tougher IMO. He simply does not like to get hit and considering the position he plays he's going to have to find a way to start playing through some pain if he ever wants to be a top notch QB. JMHO.

Jefferson played much better than I expected. My hat's off to the young man.

Jefferson is a good QB, IMO.

I think LSU's biggest problem is they're not sure what they want to be on offense. They'll run the option, then put 5 wide out. I really think that led to a lot of the false starts, illegal formation/substitution flags.

There's such an embarassment of riches on offense that I understand wanting to find creative ways to get it in to playmakers hands, but I think if they simplified things they'd be much better off.

Ding! I stated over on one of their forums, after a guy had said that we had trouble with the spread, that, yes, we'd had problems with spread teams, although we've made a lot of progress. However, I went on to say that the teams that tried to develop a spread just for us had not done so well...

I think Jefferson is as good as his press. I think that is the thing that most pleases me about this win: LSU is probably a top 5 team nationally and we physically whipped them.

LSU is a very good and well coached team, very few people here stated otherwise. The spread was 9-10 points and Bama covered the 9. The game was everything it was hyped up to be and next year I expect it to be just as good.
