Fist bumps for 1st downs and completed passes.......high fives for TDs and FGs.;)

you wink, but I agree!

when I'm intensely into a game and focused, and not wanted to jump around and go crazy, a subtle fist bump to my buddy next to me is all I care for. In fact, most of us still punch each other in the ribs or shoulder, and occassionally the accidental neck-shot, when the adrenaline takes over.

But to the fans around me, who I don't know, a high five is in order.

Did somebody say chest bump?

Yes please.

I almost fell down the stadium steps because of a semi-intoxicated chest bump after Javy returned the punt against LSU in '07. Chest Bumps are now off-limits inside the stadium unless you are on the field.

There is a large problem with the hi-five: misconnecting makes you look like a doofus, and I see it happen often.

either one is fine...except if the person beside you wants to prove his/her manliness with an excruciatingly hard bump or five. I have family members that I refuse to five with b/c they make my hand go numb for 5 minutes if I do so.

I am a high five man myself but I had no idea big play celebrations could be so hazardous. I guess I have been lucky to this point.

When high fiving:

1. Make sure you are in good position to execute- misses can be embarrassing and spoil the jubilation
2. don’t try to break your fellow Bama fan’s hand- very bad form
3. If the recipient of your high five is a little tipsy then help them out by slowing it down just a bit
4. If you are currently or have recently been sick then have some hand sanitizer and use it frequently
5. Always wash your hands after going to the bathroom

When knuckle or fist bumping:

1. Don’t go after it like a ram during mating season. It is a bump not a right cross.
2. Don’t wear rings which could cause harm
3. If you are sick and forgot your hand sanitizer then please defer to this form of celebration

Maybe I am old fashioned, but I like the handshake. That's what Joe Namath did, he would give his receiver a handshake after a touchdown pass. Joe Willy had style. I don't get this whole fist bump thing. Where did that start anyway?

Actually some folks say it was Jordan who popularized it. I always thought it came from the military.
