LA Gov. Bobby Jindal "We expect to beat them bad & be rude guests"

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting boarda>!

This is just speculation, but I'd bet the farm if Sen. Landieu (D) had made the exact same statement, this board would be selling her down the river.

And it probably would have sailed by me with no comment. :)

Sorry guys for going down that road, and sorry for stepping on Jindal's delicate toes. :) It just seemed like Jindal was enjoying a little smack talk, so why not hit him back?

Better be careful saying anything about hitting a governor. The Corndog Secret Service will come huntin' fer ya'.

Bring it on, Gov.

I hope Coach has posted this in the locker room just for a little more motivation for the TEAM, just in case any more is needed!:BigA::eek:

I'll tell you, I used to enjoy Georgia football, but over the years I've observed that they are very rude hosts to visiting teams and horrible guests (I'll never get over that trashing of The Quad a few years ago) to have on your campus. At least LSU fans maintain their sense of humor (for the most part) and are realistic in terms of their team's abilities. UGA fans tend to the delusional side. Perhaps that's why they have a rivalry with AU - they're locked in a battle for most deluded fan base.
While that may be true as a generality, I'm not finding it from reading their boards. All I see there is hubris. This is a fairly typical post - "Bama is bringing a knife to a gun fight and the entire college football world is going to watch." I realize that board inhabitants aren't necessarily representative of a fanbase as a whole, but most of their posts seem to echo Jindal's remarks. What I'm reading is that their defense is just as good and probably better than ours and their offense is far better. Last I looked, we were averaging about 75 yards or so a game more than they and we're penalized about 23 yds less. That's a whole football field, folks. Here's Kausler's total breakdown, in a very thoughtful article. There are some nuggets in there for LSU fans as well: LINK

^^Great post sir.

LSU doesn't have one player on the offensive side of the ball that can impact a game the way TR can. Their receivers may be just as talented, but I think we'll make it tough for them to get the ball.

ETA: The defensive statistics for this Alabama team, as noted in the Kausler article, are ridiculous.

The anonymity of message boards allows plenty of room for idiocy.

I was speaking more of the LSU fans I encounter in real life.

My experience has been that cross-board posters are great participants. The Tiger Den enjoys give and take with some great and knowledgeable Tide fans. If we're going to trash talk (and we will),then we're going to have to acquire a taste for an occasional serving of crow.
