RTO,

the latest on BOL from last week was Evans is looking like an auburn lean. Gus and the WHOLE defensive coaching staff came along for their in house visit. au is making him a top priority. with the exception of their front 4 this year, the au defense needs all the help they can get in their back 7. I say at this juncture due to numbers , Evans will not be part of this class. I really like his potential at the next level and think Bama can develop him into something special.

IIRC, Evans was at the Under Armour All American Game grouped with a boatload of Bama commits. Now he has set up a visit. Just sayin', maybe we have a real shot at this guy.

we actually do. closer than what most people believe. he is coming to Alabama for his OV on January 17. Ucla is a dark horse in this race. sources indicate that EE Cam R and Cornwell will be working hard to get him to sign with Bama. Evans and his family have stated that they really respect Bama's staff and the business like approach they bring. there are not many top targets left for the Bama staff to recruit until NSD so look for CNS and crew to really turn their attention to Evans in the next 4 weeks esp. with Whitley de committing.
 
we really need moe linebackers with his size, and speed. he is the kind that help in the trending hurry up offenses, and dual qbs. we are a little oversized on the corners, and without at least one corner, that can defend, and tackle well, we will be in trouble again.
 
Would love to have Evans and we will recruit him hard down the stretch. We've probably got a better chance than most would expect, but even with that in mind I don't think there is much of a reason to believe he will end up anywhere other than Auburn. Their need of linebackers certainly doesn't hurt them, either, notwithstanding the hometown effect.

Glad he's coming in for an official visit, but the fact that he is doing it mid-week tells me quite a bit...
