Les Miles: "kick the (tar) out of another team in red" - LINK

He's trying to be come off as a "tough" coach and probably hates how in the SEC, Alabama is now getting coverage over the fact that we have a good coach now. He really should be a little respectful that he would either not have a job at all or still be at OSU had CNS not left for the Miami Dolphins job. He's like North Korea's Kim Jong Il: he wants to rattle his saber to get attention but ain't really ready to use the saber when he really needs to.

Why did Miles quote Indiana in his remarks? Did Indiana actually used to be a good football school when he played at Michigan? We all know who his "red" is talking about and it ain't Arkansas, that's for sure. Just like at that Bayou Bash thingy earlier this year when he said that two recruits from the state of Alabama had committed to LSU; nevermind the fact that we have no idea which school those two recruits would've ended up had they not gone to LSU, but his emphasis and obsession with all things Alabama is going really make him turn red himself!

Keep that smack coming, Elmer Fudd.

"Heheheheheheheheheh... I'm actuawwy vewwy vewwy scawed as awe othews awound hewe. It isn't cawwed Bwyant-Denny South fow no weason."

It's ironic that he hates red so much, yet lives in Red Stick (Baton Rouge).

He's beating the drums for the LSU faithful. Apparently Saban's hire and subsequent recruiting drive have dampened Tiger enthusiasm.

I wouldn't say that. Saban's hire has stirred some emotion with some fans. However, Tiger enthusiasm cannot be dampend. We play big time football and have a loyal fan base, just like Alabama.

CNS recruited well, considering the late start he got. But we still had a great class.

Again, hiring CNS was a great move for Bama, and while some may have hard feelings, I would not expect us to roll over now that he's on the Capstone.

And with all due respect, CNS took a cheap shot too, with the coonass story. Not by calling us coonasses, that's not something most of us take offense to, but by making a joke out of the tiger faithfull being disapointed that he would be coaching against us.

Difference is Saban's remark wasn't meant for public consumption, Miles KNEW his was going to be printed.

Lester's putting an awfull lot of stock in the Bama game.

That might be fine for some summer fodder, but come gameday, the pressure will be on him.

And, while LSU fans can be understanding, I'm sure that they will be banking on him to come through with his promise.

As Ron Franklin likes to say...

"Here's the situation..."

In my opinion, it would be easier for Lester to come through with his promise if they were playing Bama near the beginning of the season. That's why our games with Arkansas, FSU, and, yes, even Vandy can be worrisome, being we'll be breaking in a new system.

However, LSU plays Bama near the end of the season, and history has it that Coach Saban's teams in his first season start to gell towrds the end of the year.

We'll see. But, the more Lester runs his mouth, the more he's going to have to put down a deposit guaranteeing Tiger fans a victory.

As the old proverb says...

"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool that to speak and remove all doubt" :)

This is a bit silly. This is hard -hitting smash yer face knock you out FOOTBALL. Of course the coaches are gonna fire shots over the bow in the off season.

Gotta give the boosters some rhetoric to fawn over. From Tubby's thumb, to Miles f'ing Bama, to Saban snipping about LSU... it's part of the game.

Lotta great coaches in the SEC, and tons of pride. Just wait until the ol' ball coach comes back from the golf courses and starts mocking Auburn again...

Now TideinMiss has some good points in Les just might be firing those shots a bit prematurely.

I just hope that Lester's obsession with Bama doesn't become as unhealthy as Phat Phil's. Of course even if it does, I doubt anyone in the SEC Office will conspire with Lester.

This story is interesting, because CLM was quoted in another report last week saying that the Alabama game was not untill Nov. and he was not going to dwell on any one team this eary in the year. Either Miles has a split personality or one of these two reports is bull.

Good point. The South Carolina game could be a big stumbling block for us. He may not have the players he had at Fla. but the ole ball coach is still one of the best, in my opinion. One of the best game day offensive play callers, if not the best, I've ever seen.

Absolutely

I find it quite coincidental that LM's comments surface shortly after 3 players have been kicked off his team.........

"hmmmmmm, things aren't looking too well right now, lemme say something to remind the folks about ole NS "betraying" them by coming to 'bama".

This is nothing but an attept to cover the fact something more serious might be lurking under the shadows of RP's suspension. Let's unite the fan base with their feelings toward CNS to brace them for what might be coming.

No inside information, just my opinion.

Actually Saban was talking directly to reporters. Miles was talking to fans at a fan event that reporters were not supposed to be allowed into. The campus newspaper reporter crashed it as a "student."

to A reporter off the record. it was a pretty career toe stubbing moment. The fervor didn't even last long.

I agree there will always be some pot shots as there should be!
