I like how LSU fans arent mad or obsessed with Saban...

Other than a couple of great LSU guys over here, anyone else like how all of the sudden the floodgates opened with LSU people here(btw, I like yall. The ones that have been allowed to stay contribute nicely. :biggrin2: ). Kind of reminds me of Auburn fans (Well, minus the "National Championsip" hayride).

Was mad, over it. Man, is it Sept. yet?

why can't we all get along. you would swear that we are across the Mason Dixon line from each other. Our anchestors we hand n hand with each other, life is too short.

I think we do, these are some good guys here, and debate is fun, and these guys will let you defend your team and point of view, as long as you keep it clean and avoid cheap shots. This is the only rival board I post on. :)

I see no hate (or even dislike) here. In fact, LSU fans are probably the most well informed and well behaved fans we have here (besides our perfect Bama bretheren, of course)...

In the words of Beevis & Butthead - WHAT A DORK !:p:frown::rolleyes:

Difference is Saban's remark wasn't meant for public consumption, Miles KNEW his was going to be printed.

Just like the other remarks CLM has made over the past few months .
For some strange reason , this pattern seems to have started in early January .

Agreed, but he still made it, it still got out, and it did sting.
... and isn't CNS an honorary coonass ? He should be .
BTW , I only have about 30 coonasses in my family .:tongue:

Just like how Saban took credit for everything Miles has accomplished.

Make us a list of those accomplishments . Let me offer you a 1"X1" post-it .:p_blank:

When clm wakes up with CNS on the brain , this is his fix .......

Miles' best bet was to keep his mouth shut. Because really he's in a lose/lose situation. If LSU strolls into T-Town and beats the brakes off of us what does he gain? They'll be expected to beat the mess out of us. They've got one of the best defenses in the country. Their depth is twice that of ours along with talent. So if he wins so what? He should have.

Oh but if he loses. You see Saban's hiring and comments he made stirred the Tigers into a frenzy. But Miles' comments has done the same to the BamaNation. With Miles' continued fuel to fire approach toward Bama he's liable to get burned by his own flames. If he gets his teeth kicked in T Town he'll have some ticked off tigger fans to answer to in Baton Rouge.

Insecurity has been oozing from CLM's mouth ever since Bama hired CNS.........& he can't seem to help himself. It becomes more obvious with each bravado laden comment. If the situation were reversed, I would not want, or expect, my coach to act this way. JMO.

Did he say Crimson . . . or did he say Red.

One thing's for sure: Miles certainly knows how to win over an audience. When the topic of the Tigers' upcoming schedule came up, a Nov. 3 meeting at Alabama stood out.

"It's funny, my entire coaching career, I've never enjoyed the color red," said Miles, whose 27-year career includes assistant gigs at alma mater Michigan and in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys.

"Ohio State, Indiana -- shoot, when I was with the Cowboys, it was the Redskins. I just see it as another opportunity to go back to my roots and kick the (tar) out of another team in red."
Not too much doubt about whom he was referring to.........and even less room to defend it.

For the record....

Les Miles won the SEC West Championship in 2005. Considering everything that happened that year, I believe that is remarkable.

Les was also a couple of horrible calls in the AU game from winning it again last year. LSU beat the West champ on their home field. There is not doubt in my mind that LSU would have beaten Florida in the SECCG and OSU in the BCS championship game. We finished the season really strong once the OL gelled a little.

Last year's schedule was brutal. No one picked LSU to finish in the top 5 (because we lost 3 DLs to the draft) and yet Les got it done.

This year Les has a chance the quiet the doubters and I believe he will.

Time will tell, but I like the direction LSU is going. I wouldn't trade places with an ALabama fan for a million dollars.

Cheers,

Cleotus

I find CLM to be a pretty amusing character. Whether he realizes it or not, he is setting LSU up for wild ride in ’07 with his comments. Just look at their schedule:

@ MSU
Virginia Tech
MTSU
South Carolina
@Tulane
Florida
@Kentucky
Auburn
OFF WEEK
@Alabama
La. Tech
@ Ole Miss
Arkansas

There are five games on that schedule before they get to Alabama that could possibly pose problems for a team with a questionable qb situation. If they lose one or two early, then the pressure could start building (especially if LSU drops another one or two after that) all the way to the show down with Alabama, where it could have the potential to really boil over.

What CLM doesn’t take into account is that the light at the end of the tunnel could be a freight train headed his way.

Don't tell me you guys celebrate divisional 'championships'...

We celebrate good games, good years, good wins. If you guys only celebrate championships, then most years are not successfull.

While everyone is giggling and running down Miles, MortonLSU made a good point. No one, and I mean no one, expected LSU to win 11 games and end up in the top five with the schedule we played last year, it was brutal. How about giving Miles some credit for that.

Regardless of some pundits predictions of the impending implosion at LSU that team did not run itself.

It takes about 4 years to get a good idea of a coach's impact on a program. Right now that freight train sabanball was talking about could go either way.

Hey, we love good years and good teams as much as anyone and have had more than most, but that's not the point, so drop the straw man. I simply mentioned that Miles is running his mouth and he's won nothing, only to have someone post 'LSU won the west in 05'.

My point still stands - only those who haven't won anything crow about divisional championships, (see Miles).

Help me out, I don't understand what that means. ??
