I wouldn't say that. Saban's hire has stirred some emotion with some fans. However, Tiger enthusiasm cannot be dampend. We play big time football and have a loyal fan base, just like Alabama.

CNS recruited well, considering the late start he got. But we still had a great class.

Again, hiring CNS was a great move for Bama, and while some may have hard feelings, I would not expect us to roll over now that he's on the Capstone.

And with all due respect, CNS took a cheap shot too, with the coonass story. Not by calling us coonasses, that's not something most of us take offense to, but by making a joke out of the tiger faithfull being disapointed that he would be coaching against us.

Come on, you all trashed him the day he went to Alabama, we both know that.

Actually Saban was talking directly to reporters. Miles was talking to fans at a fan event that reporters were not supposed to be allowed into. The campus newspaper reporter crashed it as a "student."

Red, Saban was talking off the record before an interview and he even made that clear but one jerk turned on a recorder and let that coonass joke go public.

Les is quite literally the butt-end of jokes all over the SEC and Big12. He's won some games, but that's it - zero championships.

Notice our coach isn't singling schools out and talking smack - I have a feeling we'll let our play on the field do the talking.

I think Les doesn't get alot of credit he deserves. On the other hand he really didn't win "the big one" last year and if his performance this year is a repeat I'm afraid his stock with the fans might drop again. It seems like alot of LSU faithful weren't on his side UNTIL Bama hired Saban.

I think we should let this one slide. This was an alumni pep rally and CLM was playing to the assembled faithful.

With that said, I don't think I can recall any coach ever publically implying that he was looking forward to kicking Bama's ... or one that reported the impetus being the color of an opposing team's uniform.

Two years, no championships, will Coach Saban be the butt end of jokes all over the SEC if he doesn't win a championship in two years? Again, two years is not enough time to be a success or failure. We'll all have to wait and see. Right now, he's 22-4. Two blowout bowl wins over nationally recognized programs. That's not doing anything but running your mouth? Not to shabby, agreed?

Again, one day he's quoted as saying he won't worry about Bama till the week of the game, the next week someone is quoting him as having a Bama fixation. Did anyone here think that maybe it's a reporter trying to stir the pot?

I was disapointed that he went to a SEC competitor. I never said otherwise. He was much beloved by the Tiger faithfull, myself included. I don't doubt if the shoe was on the other foot, some Bama fans would have acted the same way.

Other than a couple of great LSU guys over here, anyone else like how all of the sudden the floodgates opened with LSU people here(btw, I like yall. The ones that have been allowed to stay contribute nicely. :biggrin2: ). Kind of reminds me of Auburn fans (Well, minus the "National Championsip" hayride).
