Video: Let's be real about Tua (a look at his career)

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

He is. And I hate seeing him get denigrated by all of these “experts” online. He’s a generational talent who suffered massive injuries that would have completely ended most careers.

He led the League in a lot of passing stats in ‘22 and led the League in Passing Yards in ‘23 and Comp % in ‘24.

His mobility and some of his power on throws was limited by that MSU injury.

He’s had only god knows how many major concussions.

Yet as mentioned he’s played at a High level still at various points.

If he had never been injured I think he could have been a Top 5 NFL QB in the right system for the right team and if they taught him how to protect himself and if he listened.

A lot of ifs I know.

But Tua is by far the most talented QB that started for Bama.

He was ready to start the second he arrived on Campus.

His ability to throw WRs open and hit guys in stride with such precision was unmatched.

His snap to throw time and release was unmatched.

Mac Jones is the only other Bama QB in Tua’s stratosphere.

All that said I wish Tua would retire.

I’m pretty convinced he’s going to have a life like Muhammad Ali post career.

Letting Tua play on the drive at Mississippi State was the worst decision at Alabama during the CNS tenure. He hasn’t and will never be the same.

Yes... He should have been on the sidelines or at the very least should not have sought out contact. Slide or just throw it away. I think that same issue serves him poorly in the NFL.

Teams that unloaded their coach (Auburn... PSU...) are doing well today. Hope Bama doesn't assume LSU players will be in a funk and not take them seriously. As for the score... I'll be happy with a win.

Bo and Tua didn't have the same injury. Bo eventually developed avascular necrosis of the ball of his femur. IOW, it died. No hip replacement ever completely mimics a normal hip. Tua's injury was a dislocation, fracturing the rear of hip socket, knocking a piece of bone off. I've had a similar injury, except I only had a crack. That hip is due to be replaced in December, on my birthday. I didn't have necrosis, but the ball is worn flat on the hip side. The other hip had to be replaced first, about ten years ago...
