You know, I took it from the Musk interview that she was literally dead. Bless her heart for having to grow up in a non-supportive environment, though it does seem her mother was supportive.

I used to think very highly of Musk. Now, he’s a sorry excuse for a human being, and I wish I had never heard of him. He disgusting to treat his own child like that. Woke mind virus my ass.

I keep seeing conservatives laugh at Bud Light losing market share for the can they made for the transgender woman because it went against their base.

I’m guessing liberals are more likely to buy an electric car than conservatives. So will Musk’s politics hurt his day job?

Already has.

Tesla sales fell for the second straight quarter. It marks the the first time in the company’s history that sales declined from the previous year for two quarters in a row.
Tesla’s sales for the quarter came in at nearly 444,000 cars, down about 5% from a year ago. That’s less than the 8.5% drop the company saw in the first quarter.
And before someone chimes in to say "EV sales are down..."

No, they aren't.

Global EV sales hit record high in Q2 2024: New AutoMotive
Global EV sales rose 19% from Q1, with China leading the surge.

The US also experienced significant growth, with Q2 sales up 12% from Q1. Over 1.15 million EVs were sold in the US in the year to June, an increase of 200,000 from the previous 12 months.

Of course social media contributes to it. Kids want to feel like they belong to something. Do the math…
I'm on my 2nd go-round with kids, this time step-kids. Our 16 yr old talks about her friends who are "bi", "pan", "trans" as if she's talking about what kind of trendy clothes they wore that day.

No doubt fed by social media - which the generation cannot live without. We took her phone away last Summer, and it was like watching a heroin addict in withdrawal.

Some cultures accept that gender and sex are not neat binary either/or and linked neatly together. Our culture is kind of ripping itself apart trying to come to terms with the genetic and environmental variations in our 360 million citizens in our country. These variations have always been here, how we understand respond is what has been evolving so much. How this shakes out in the end as to what is acceptable publicly, nobody knows.

As for the phone, yes, it's designed to be addictive as possible. I think we'll find out in 15-20 years how much the phones have caused physical, emotional, and chemical changes in our next generation. We don't do zero phone time with our kid, but we have set very screen time limits (less than an hour) per day on the phone.

Governor bans use of 'conversion therapy' on LGBTQ+ minors in Kentucky
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear is banning the use of “conversion therapy” on minors in Kentucky

Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear banned the use of “conversion therapy” on minors in Kentucky on Wednesday, calling his executive order a necessary step to protect children from a widely discredited practice that tries to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity through counseling.

The governor used his executive powers after Republicans who control the state legislature repeatedly blocked efforts to enact a state law banning the practice. Beshear said he would no longer wait for others to "do what’s right.”

“My faith teaches me that all children are children of God," Beshear said during the signing ceremony at the Kentucky Capitol. "And where practices are endangering and even harming those children, we must act. The practice of so-called ‘conversion therapy’ hurts our children.”

Oh this generation can’t work without a phone and i truly mean it. When the school system announced this year that cell phones would be placed in a Yondr pouch this year on arrival the home school rate quadrupled from the previous decade within the district.

Jesus loves every member of the LGBTQ+

It's "Christians" who hate them.

What non-heterosexual adults do in their own home is not anyone else's business and they aren't doing anything wrong or hurting anyone by being themselves.

They aren't hurting anyone else by getting married either.

What is so scary and threating?

On January 17, 2025, the Supreme Court of the United States agreed to hear Mahmoud v. Taylor, a case brought by a group of parents in Montgomery County, Maryland, who sued the school district for the right to opt their children out of using certain books in school they argue are against their religious beliefs.

Statement by authors and illustrators of books in Supreme Court case Mahmoud v. Taylor

February 19, 2025

On January 17, 2025, the Supreme Court of the United States announced that it will hear Mahmoud v. Taylor, a case brought by a group of parents from Montgomery County, Maryland, against the Board of Education for the County school district. The case revolves around the district’s decision to include certain books with LGBTQ+ characters and themes in the elementary school curriculum. The parents argue that their religious rights are being violated by not being able to opt their children out of class when such books are to be used. We, as authors and illustrators of the books, strongly support the school district and its decision to include our books in the curriculum.

We created our books with love and care. Children and their parents need to see families like their own in books. We have all had the experience of meeting a child and their family who are delighted by our books. We have been told about children hugging our books and carrying them everywhere they go. We have heard emotional stories from adults who wish they had had our books when they were growing up. These were the books we ourselves needed when we were young.

We stand in support of the Montgomery County School District. We oppose censoring or segregating books, like ours, that feature LGBTQ+ people. All families deserve to be seen and heard. To act otherwise is harmful and sends a devastating message to students: that their lives and families are so offensive and dangerous that they can’t even be discussed in school.

Specifically targeting books about one group of families and children is discriminatory and leaves this group vulnerable to mistreatment and bullying. A ruling in favor of the plaintiffs in this case would undermine teachers in their efforts to create safe, inclusive classrooms where all children learn to treat each other with respect and kindness. Research shows that representation is linked to better educational outcomes.

Every child deserves the freedom to read. The freedom to read leads to the freedom to learn. Children need to know that there are other people like them in the world, that they aren’t alone, that their hopes and fears are shared by others. And they need the freedom to read about different people with different views, from diverse ethnic backgrounds and abilities. The freedom to read means that children are free to have their own thoughts and beliefs and to make their own choices. It helps prepare them to be good citizens, to navigate and succeed in a complex and diverse world.

Our most basic duty as members of society is to respect and care for each other, no matter how similar or different we may be. Children want to see themselves in books; all children need to see many different kinds of people in books.

US threatens permanent visa bans on trans athletes based on sex markers
State department memo directs officers to bar those deemed to misrepresent birth sex on applications

The US state department has ordered officials worldwide to deny visas to transgender athletes attempting to come to the US for sports competitions and to issue permanent visa bans against those who are deemed to misrepresent their birth sex on visa applications.

The 24 February state department cable obtained by the Guardian instructs visa officers to apply Immigration and Nationality Act section 212(a)(6)(C)(i) – the “permanent fraud bar” – against trans applicants. Unlike regular visa denials, this section triggers lifetime exclusion from the United States with limited waiver possibilities.

“In cases where applicants are suspected of misrepresenting their purpose of travel or sex, you should consider whether this misrepresentation is material such that it supports an ineligibility finding,” reads the directive from the US secretary of state, Marco Rubio.

From your posting I infer that you are making the assertion that Jesus loves and accepts everyone as they are.

Jesus did exhibit love for all sinners in many examples of his interactions with them in the Bible, but a common theme also from his recorded interactions was “I don’t condemn you, but go and sin no more.” His acceptance of the person did require repentance to strive to follow his teachings. The idea that someone will flaunt a sinful lifestyle and say Jesus accepts me just like I am without making any attempt to make changes that align with his teachings is not in the Bible as I interpret it.

If a Christian showed this kind of love to someone (to care enough about them to try and redirect their behavior to Biblical principals) would that be defined as "hate?"

So does Jesus love every member of the LGBTQ+? Absolutely. Would he endorse that lifestyle? Never.
