LSU Billboard (pic)

Ok, I don't think they are obsessed with Coach Saban. It is a condo complex sponsoring it, not the student body. Sure there may be some ill will but I can guarantee that the majority of LSU fans are over Coach Saban. To most of them, Saban is just another SEC coach that they want to win against and a road block they have to get over to get to the National Championship. Sure if LSU wins there will be some sweet justice but I think the obsession is over.
Just out of curiosity, were there "Welcome back, Mark Richt" billboards.
Was there a "Burn the Bulldogs" bonfire?

Obviously, Coach Saban is special in their eyes.

No, they're still obsessed with CNS. They really want to show us up. I have many LSU friends I worked with and we lived in BR for 3 years. They are truly fixated on him.
Disclaimer: I said MAJORITY of LSU fans. I did not indicate that ALL fans were over it

I would think that this would be a prime opportunity for Tulane to sneak up on a LSU team that was looking ahead, but after a promising 2-2 start (promising because of who they lost to and how close it was), Tulane is tanking big time, losing their last three to drop to 2-5, and getting blown out in two of them, by Army 44-13 and by Rice 42-17. It's bad enough that I'm wondering if the Green Wave has suffered some injuries to key personnel, but I don't keep up with them enough to know.

So if Tulane's October performance is any indication, LSU should be able to slog their way through this one even with a mediocre effort (not that the Bayou Bengals have looked so great in October themselves).

Of course, none of this has any particular bearing on 11/8's game.

You're right, most are over Saban. Now those who want to believe different will find the minority of folks who aren't, and point that out.

But I'm in the heart of Tigerland, and I can tell you, most have moved on.

well about 90% of them at the indy bowl last year beg to differ. especially the poor soul who tried to talk junk to a bathroom full of bama fans. i still wonder if he made it out of there alive.

like I said, people who want to believe different will.

I live in Brusly, 7 miles across the river from Tiger Stadium. I'm in the heart of Tigerland, go to every game, listen to sportstalk radio, read the newspapers and press conferences, and I'm telling you what I know.

Go to Tigerforums and read the Bama threads. Most every poster gives props to Saban and Bama.

90% is accurate.

I agree. My hubby and I may have tickets to that game, and I'm not sure I want to be in BR that night. He says he "ain't skeered", but we know alot of LSU fans, and I know how they are when they are PO'd, not to mention PO'd and drunk.

True, very true, the trick is to make sure that you avoid them 24 hours before, anytime during, or 24 hours after any sporting event, especially football games. If you do then you will probably find them peaceful if not sober. :)

:BigA: RTR!

Oh yes, a trip around Tiger fans is like a trip to the woods in the movie Deliverance.

I've been to Atlanta for the SECC when LSU was playing and I really enjoyed the LSU fans - and BOY are they loud!

Same here, I have nothing against LSU fans. My best friend down here is a huge LSU fan from Baton Rogue, and he has nothing but the utmost respect for Saban. He claims he dislikes Saban simply because LSU now has to play him, and that really hurts. He talks trash, of course, but at the end of the day, it's all to benefit this rivalry.

I am not saying the if they lose it won't sting more or if they win it won't be a little sweeter, I am just saying I don't believe they (the average LSU fans) are consumed with Saban. And once again it is a Condo complex trying to get people to come and check out the condos...not the student body doing this and it isn't happening on campus.

I guess I just hate when people accuse us of living in the past, when most of us aren't. I think we respect and cherish the past but we aren't living in it. But just because one person or the media hound on something doesn't mean the fans are obsessed.

I don't understand, still. what is there to get over. I don't get it.
