This could be one of the highest HC turnover seasons at Major Programs ever.

If you are making $10MM+ / year + transfer portal, you no longer get 4 years to turn it around. What’s ridiculous is the buyouts. The schools have to collude without colluding to make it known that the $10MM you're getting each year is your security. Not making the playoffs or winning x# of games should negate buyouts terms, if any. Otherwise these become mostly one sided in the coach’s favor. They’re trying to protect against poaching but unless you have deep deep pockets you cant continue to play that game. ADs also have to become more accountable.

None of the math adds up for me with these contracts anymore, lol. I mean you are borrowing deep into the future, and unless you managed to hire a guy like Nick Saban, that coach is likely never staying around long enough for it to pay off.

I remember the simple days, when people called us insane for paying Saban $4 mil a year with no buyout….

there are so many good up and coming coaches. leave these rethread coaches out of the mix.
the LSU board wants Lanning and Kiffin. very typical mindset.
I would take a look at Clark Lea, Brent Key, Kalani Sitake at BYU (he's had one losing season in 6 years),
Alex Golesh. they all have done more with less esp. with lack of resources.

Key is the best of that entire group.
