This may sound a little harsh but so be it. Over the past few days we’ve seen a number of unauthorized photos being posted to the message boards. This has to stop! If you don’t own the photo you are posting do not post them anywhere on Tidefans.com.

We take extreme measures to insure we adhere to all copyright laws concerning photos and content owned by other sources and have strict policies against use of photos without consent. If you see a staff member of Tidefans.com post a photo they do so after obtaining explicit permission. We have relationships with photo providers that provide photos with the condition that we obtain explicit permission and give them credit for the photo. Credits alone do not give anyone permission to use a photo in the public space.

Hope all you understand and consider this the last warning on this issue. Those who continue to post photos they don’t own will be suspended.

Folks we're about to start suspending people. Jim posted a sticky for all to see about posting photo's that you don't own. We posted a warning within one thread yesterday and this will be the last warning that I'll post. Stone Cold this isn't directed to you personally but a basis for the the last warning in general. I'd rather save suspensions for game day threads. :biggrin2: Let's tighten it up boys and girls.

No worries seems like I was the offender in question just totally slipped my mind. Again I apologize just saw the pic and started laughing totally forgot about the pic thingy.

No problem. Its something we're all having to get used to. We all want to keep Brett and this site out of any form of copyright, ownership, legal trouble so the policy has to be strictly followed.

Les Miles is working on a backup plan for that game, should Jefferson and the others be unavailable. “We’re preparing to play those guys that would expect to play, and yeah, we’re preparing for if a happenstance would occur.”

So what is the difference between the photos allowed that started the Maryland uniform thread and the pics that were deleted later in the thread? Kinda confusing that some stuff is allowed and some isn't.

LOL! I was wondering when this question would come up. We (the admins) were advised that the Maryland uniform pics were apart of a press release by Under Armour in which the intended purpose of the photo's were to market the uniforms. That particular instance is a "gray area" that the higher ups on the board deemed "okay" to stay. To be safe, if you're not sure just PM one of the mods and we'll lead you from there. However, do not post a pic then pm us. Again, this is something we're all having to get used to but it is for a very good reason.

Yeah..I'm serial pic poster (or at least I was). So what I've done to adapt is just post the link to the photo if I don't own it or if it doesn't come from a site whose sole intent is for their pictures to be posted on message boards. Kinda takes the punch out of it, but hey...this isn't my tent. I'm just in the circus. And thus I abide by the policies

The latest bit of news to come out of the LSU bar brawl saga surfaced Wednesday, with multiple media outlets reporting that police have executed a search warrant on the residence of one of the football players believed to have been involved in the melee late last week.

I'm trying to imagine what I would do if I was present when something like this was going down. I know I'd probably pull out my cell phone and video record the events, to hand over to police (and maybe to the news, or if I knew it could be celebrity-related, sell to TMZ). I'd be surprised if someone there didn't do this. I'm surprised people can act so dumb, when virtually everyone is now walking around with video recording devices.
