Game Thread: LSwho vs TT

Who the hell IS this qb from TT? It's like a freaking highlight real every play

Son of Pat Mahomes, former MLB pitcher.

He's the guy to whom only Kingsbury offered a scholarship, apparently.

I think most coaches probably just assumed he was headed towards MLB and didn't want to waste recruiting time on him.

Oops.

Harris is turning into a qb for LSU before our eyes. Next years game will be very different from this year's
Excuse me for LOL. Texas Tech has one of the worst defense this year, Harris looked great because the red raiders are that bad. Harris had his inept moments early in the game even with wide open receivers, 2nd half was better but that was because their secondary was horrid and lsu WRs made some great catches despite Harris. Wait until he faces SEC defenses again before you think he's turn the corner.

Yah, not sure about that, either.

But this TT QB is LEGIT. Dang.
Yup..I agree 100% with as always Brad..No doubt he played a heckuva game & looked like he's definitely improved, but, playing against D's like Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU & other teams whose main focus as a football program is on their high octane offenses..Tends to make ordinary offenses look like Peyton Manning is their QB & is running their offense..

When Harris does the same thing against SEC D's like Bama, Florida & Miss St on a consistent basis, I'll be impressed with Harris & The Swamp Kittens offense..I'm not trying to take away from his performance tonight, but, we have to realize this wasn't a SEC D he was playing against..

Just some food for thought:

1) LSU and Oklahoma both played Texas Tech

2) LSU, with the lesser offense, had more yards (638-617) and only 7 fewer points (56-63). During the regular season, LSU only exceeded 30 points five times against decent foes and was not all that impressive against SEC defenses as the year wore on; OU exceeded 30 points in all but one game......the one they lost.

3) Both teams gave up 27 points. In fact, only Baylor, Tulsa, and TCU scored more than Tech's 27 points on OU; LSU gave up more than 27 to Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, and Ole Miss (e.g. more points given up to presumably lesser offenses).

Obviously, you cannot read TOO much into one game (else Memphis is worlds better than the SEC and Tech did kill Arky). However, that does make me feel better about a game with OU if such an event takes place.

May not matter but oh well. If OU = LSU, we've got a better than decent chance of beating them. (Of course, the wildcard is that Mayfield is worlds better than Harris, so.....)
