Just some food for thought:
1) LSU and Oklahoma both played Texas Tech
2) LSU, with the lesser offense, had more yards (638-617) and only 7 fewer points (56-63). During the regular season, LSU only exceeded 30 points five times against decent foes and was not all that impressive against SEC defenses as the year wore on; OU exceeded 30 points in all but one game......the one they lost.
3) Both teams gave up 27 points. In fact, only Baylor, Tulsa, and TCU scored more than Tech's 27 points on OU; LSU gave up more than 27 to Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, and Ole Miss (e.g. more points given up to presumably lesser offenses).
Obviously, you cannot read TOO much into one game (else Memphis is worlds better than the SEC and Tech did kill Arky). However, that does make me feel better about a game with OU if such an event takes place.
May not matter but oh well. If OU = LSU, we've got a better than decent chance of beating them. (Of course, the wildcard is that Mayfield is worlds better than Harris, so.....)
