ON CSTV's Crystal Ball, Brian Curtis (who I've never been a big fan of) had a little piece about this. He said CPC at USC has some of the most wide open practices of anyone, with over 500 people watching sometimes. Curtis said thats just telling everyone, 'We don't care if you spy on us or not because you are not good enough to beat us anyway.' He closed by saying that people spying on other people is ultimately not the reason for wins and losses.

I think he is right. Obviously CMR is very worried about this game. I hope his worries become bad feelings. I hope the bad feelings become very prophetic. He had a decent time in T-town the last time UGA played Bama on the road. Let's do our part, as fans, to make this time become his worst nightmare. DT_fkr:

Stoops does go on to admit later in the article that he was given the option of picking where he practiced and he willingly chose the Superdome.

And really, Oklahoma never should have been in that game to begin with.

I don't think Ivan is that, but I think the press is running with the "Georgia Closed Practice" story. If Richt is a "stand-up" guy like everyone says that he is, how come he hasn't came out and said that he is having a closed practice for other reasons?

He did, but if the media reported that it kills their chance to slam Coach Saban again.

He said it in an interview on WJOX. He said he had always had closed practices, but with the hype of the game he didn't want the media there this week. He also said it was in no way directed toward CNS.

Agreed - the thread is ill named. Maisel was very even-handed in his reporting. Stoops comes off as a whiner and Saban as a man trying to stay above the fray...

Does Belicheck have any children in school? Perhaps the media can discuss whether or not all of his kids should all be flunked out of school this year for cheating. I mean, if you're gonna tie everyone the guy has ever met to being a cheater, why not go all out?

Well, the thread has been renamed now but I disagree. Why was Stoops interviewed? Why was he asked specifically about the game his team played against Saban's team? Why is Saban the ONLY college coach that has had to answer questions to defend himself against the question of whether or not he pulled a Belichick?

The meme is out there already this week with the articles in the AJC and CNNSI. Maisel just continued it here without explicitly coming out and saying it.
