Has The Skills to Pay the Bills

That's what they say about Brodie, about russell they say he lacks the skill to close the deal. It will be close that day in BDS. No doubt about it that game will be one of the best for fans of other teams to watch. I still say our D can make the difference. Here we are 8&O--South Carolina beat Tenn today and Georgia lost. The ole football sure bounced funny today

Why get upset?

LSU and Auburn clearly have more talent than we do.
Head to head against common foes, they crush them, and we will squeak by.

Their logic.

LSU and AU have great offense. Bama Offense sucks!! advantage - AU/LSU
BAMA, LSU, and AU have great defenses advantage - PUSH

Therefore we lose.

In our case, though, it's not the size of the dog in the fight that matters...

Response To Clearly Have More Talent Than We do

Now before I say something stupid like give me skill positions at LSU or Auburn where we cannot line up and play toe to toe. Were you being funny and just throwing out that post to rile us up?
Jamarcus Russell is big and has an arm. I like the analogy of his arm being a rifle with the sites filed off.....Brodie is a Senior Field General. Russell is a toss um and pray QB. I take nothing away from the players at either LSU or Auburn for as many say the SEC is the strongest conference, but our Defense stats and our O stats put as the only team in the nation in the top 10 in both categories. The only thing I have to face is that on any given day anything can happen-ask Georgia, ask Texas who had their Longhorns handed to them by a third rate team last night. Talk about luck had Auburn's field goal kicker not had a noticable lack of air to his brain LSU would have lost (they didn't look to great to me when Auburn kicks you all over the field and you have to go into overtime.) They (LSU) come to BDS and we know the crowd won't be the same ole BDS quiet group they have come to expect. As for Auburn-let's see where they are when we go calling. Still a lot of football to play. Talent and Heart go hand and hand. Hey, don't forget in preseason every major outlet had UT as THE MOST TALENTED TEAM IN SEC. They were rated #3 and as it turns out talent ain't crap if you don't know how to coach it. We got the coach, we got the talent and we have the heart. RTR

LSU's chances would be better if Jemarcus Russell didn't have the IQ of a sloth. Throw in Les Miles and I like Bama's chances even more. You have to be very good and smart to beat Alabama.

QB:

JaMarcus Russell: Has a cannon for an armor and good pocket presence. Tends to throw behind or not put the adequate touch on his passes. Not mobile at all and cannot play with a lead.

Brodie Croyle: what can i say, the kid is good. The only problem i see is if pressured and not given adequate time to plant/set and throw to his recievers, he may throw up some ints.

Edge: Bama

OL:

LSU: LSU has a great OL that give JaMarcus tons of time to throw the ball. Going back and watching tape though, they are not very good at run blocking, therefore look for alot of bounce outs and screens... sigh

Bama: Young OL that has played very well considering this year. Very good at run blocking but has trouble picking up Camo'd blitzes. This could be a weakeness with Bo Pelini's increased blitz calls.

Edge: LSU

RB

LSU: Heralded pre season at 4 deep. The LSU RB corp was hurt with Alley Broussards pre season injury. Joseph Addai, a very capable back with good hands, has shown that he can establish enough of a running game to keep LSU in a ball game. Shyrone Carrey, a skat back, will either break a 10-15 run behind his tall bockers... or be tackled (fall down) at the line of scrimmage... and then there is the 03 NC MVP Justin Vincent... thinks he is a powerback... but he isn't.

Bama: Ken Darby is a good back that seems to run hard every down. He is capable of breaking large chunks if DL try and arm tackle him, but if forced East/West seems to be easily contained. i don't know much about Coffee or Johns.

Edge: Push

WR:

LSU: Once again LSU was heralded pre season to have the nation best stable of WRs, to our dismay speed and athleticism dont necessarily make a great reciever. Skyler Green is electric and add PRs to his resume makes him the most dangerous man on our team. Early Doucet, Buster Davis, and Dwayne Bowe are great recievers with suspect hands. Buster and Dwayne are big reciever that are capable of making great catches, if they can get past the dropsies.

Alabama: With the loss of Prothro (Bama's Reggie Bush) Bama's recievers dont scare me to much. DJ Hall has looked good in the past few weeks, but he is no Prothro.

Edge: LSU

Defense: (ill just go over weakness, b/c god knows we both have stifling Ds)

LSU: Weakness: LB... we have no real threat here, they are more like hybrid safties then snot knocking linebackers. CB are new but Ronnie Prude is making alot of progress. Look for alot of blitzes from LaRon Landry (this kid can lay the wood). Also Jessie Daniels is injured, but will have the weak off to rest up.

Bama: i really dont see a weakness... strong LB core with Roach and Ryan... DL good, but linebackers make up for any inconsistency here. Secondary is good but can be beat if we can sneak a few deep balls.

Edge: Bama

Special Teams

LSU: Skyler Green, and mulit sport kicker Chris Jackson... nuff said

Alabama: Dont really know enough about them, but they seem to be hurt with Prothro not returning kicks... i have heard from other Bama fans that Prothro wasn't blowing anyone socks off at KR so you may not be hurt much here.

Edge: LSU

My prediction: Tough smash mouth game... like the SEC of old

LSU 17
Bama 13

Check out Brodie stats

on interceptions, if LSU is counting on that they better have a better plan
You are right smash mouth football and this D of ours that is rated out the roof in every poll that keeps stats is just that "smash mouth" Auburn even gave Mr. russell a go for it and I know we have a better than that cow college.
It will be a game alright and our guys know to bring it to the field. You can leave the stat book at the house, you'll need more than that to beat Bama

Funny... i didn't add in the fact that LSU has intangibles like luck and the fact that our QB is 10-1 as starter with 5 or so come from behind victories. We have played like crap all season and still only lost a poorly coached game right after a huge natural disaster. Our players have heart and a never die attitude. if you think LSU will fear the "noise" and "hostile environment" that is Bryant-Denny Stadium, you got another thing coming.

Dear K/LSU

We have many "thinks" coming and fear of a QB who couldn't think his way out of a collasping pocket isn't one of them/ don't want to get in a smack match with you so all Im going to say at this point is "overtime" you had to finish a poorly run Auburn team in "overtime with a field goal-couldn't even score a TD"
and if that poor little Auburn boy had been awake you wouldn't have that one in your bag of tricks. You have been lucky I'll give you that and boy howdy have you needed it. Your novice SEC coach is about to have a lesson in
"This Is Alabama Football" Welcome to Bryant Denny and the home of more than "1" National Championship-ask Tenn and Florida how they liked it there

How cute, a troll.

Heart? AHAHAHAHA
You missed the UT game didn't you?

It's evident that people don't fear Tiger stadium.

For your own sake, look at LSU's home records against big named SEC foes.

You won't like your answer, however, if I look at BD records against the same people, then I think our results will be different.

It'd be nice if LSU fans had things to say with substance rather than empty threats.

LSU hasn't played one big game away from home. They will be coming for their biggest game of the season. To say they won't be "nervous" is stupid and funny. Enjoy being "picked" LSU, we know how much it carries over into the game.
P.S. You said poor coaching lost you the game, you still have the same coach.

i come here respectful and give my honest opinion, and all you do is give me that same egotistical, self agrandizing Alabama attitude. Guess all that humbleness i have been used to is gone. i love the attacks on LSU's players when all i did was compliment yours. Hell, even Burners can have a logical, well thought out conversation with me about football... and not this b.s. "This is Bama football" crap.

You comment on our game with Auburn... you havent played them yet.

You comment on our close wins and our OT loss... nice squeaker at Oxford. Nice offensive performance against Tennessee also. That Bama offense is a spectacle to be marveled at.

yes yes, we know. However we didn't lose. Something LSU has done. At home. Against a team that is sub-500.

Don't say you were being respectful either claiming LSU has intangibles that Bama doesn't have, you knew what you were doing.

If AU gives you a good convo then bother them? You could leave anytime, but you won't because you'll have to have the last word.

And you can show me where I ever mentioned your original post. Thanks in advance.

My proof is that you have 6 total posts, and only one of them wasn't an attack.

I did not find your comments respectful at all

And I will stand by mine
"This Is Alabama Football" is a battle cry for us- thought you knew that.
We are #4 in the nation because a group of highly thought of sports professionals analyze data and strength of schedule and yes the all important won and loss records and our program has been voted there....and you are rated>>>>>>>where? Ut was suppose to beat us (didn't happen) florida was suppose to beat us (didn't happen) Heck, we weren't even mentioned in the preseason as a contender for anything but the cellar in the west and looky here who is in the driver's seat. Why, you ask yourself, you did ask yourself did't you?---Talent, coaching, desire and hard work. You said it yourself, poor coaching lost you a big game---going to get a new one before you come to Bryant Denny? We don't know how this season will end, but we do know we are back (See the cover of SI?) We have players being considered for the highest national honors on both our offence and defense- a proven senior QB who will pick your pathetic defense apart with one eye closed and a guy named DeMeco you will be hearing a lot of that day. Don't come dish my team, man. If you can't take what you give out---we are proud of this team and all they stand for both on and off the field. "This Is Alabama Football"
