Just curious if anyone has heard anything about Greg. Highly touted recruit, looks to be headed for a redshirt year (which is good IMHO). But I haven't heard anything about how he looks vs. college defenses (esp since I assume he's on the scout team) or how he's adjusting to Bama.

I am a HUGE JPW fan but I worry that if he's having any issues AND he's seeing that JPW is going to be the starter for three years, leaving him with 2 at best, if he's going to get restless and go someplace else.....

Anyone know anything?

And yes, I did a search. :)

I think McElroy waits his turn. He backed up star QB Chase Daniel for years at Southlake, lit it up his senior year, and has shown no detectable ego.

He must be doing pretty good running the scout team offense. I've heard he's won player of the week once or twice.

It certainly appears we have a future winner in GM!:biggrin2:

What he accomplished last year has been well documented and I still find it hard to understand why he was not more highly sought after..:conf2:

I love the type QB's CMS is bringing into the program! :BigA:

i meet his parents at the vandy game, and they were very nice/classy people (like i have read in internet articles). so not only is this guy a good qb, but comes from a good family and has his head on straight.

"Highly touted recruit"

He was not that hightly touted. His best offers were Bama and Texas Tech (I think it was TT, or was it TCU). Anyway, he did not have a lot of offers. That being the case, he would be foolish to get restless and jump ship. That is, unless, some other phenom comes along and takes the spotlight away from him.

Anything can happen in the next 3 years.

Our future at QB looks great for the next five years. We are already seeing what a great QB JPW is and I am confident GM is going to be outstanding when his turn comes.

This the SEC and with the way defense is played in the league, your back-up is only a play away from being the starter. Unfortunately, we know this all too well.

I've read when the upper classmen were asked which freshmen were the most impressive, GM along with Andre were the two names mentioned over and over.

I think GM knows that next year he will be just one play away from being the
starter. And from what I hear he is really a competitor, it is good to have this
guy in T-Town.

I look at this way, the time he spends riding the bench this year will only make him that much better next year and beyond. A lot can be learned from watching from the sidelines, especially if you're a QB.

In an earlier interview, GM seemed perfectly at ease with with being RS'd this year.......actually, he acted like he expected it. At any rate he understands the significance of putting an extra year between he & JPW. I'm sure Guillon, and Barnes HOPE he stays a RS! :biggrin2: ;)
