Meaning of your Username....

I joined the Army when i was 18 moved to Louisiana, then moved on to the Air Force and now I'm in New Mexico and I wish more then anything that i was still living in Alabama

Unfortunately, mine has nothing to do with 'Bama. :tongue:

My "real life" nickname is Nicki, and I was a metalhead in high school ... a friend dubbed me "Nitallica" after my favorite band, and the name stuck. :cool2:

The Proxigean Tide is a rare, unusually high tide that occurs at most once every 1.5 years. I chose this name because its been about 1.5 years since I posted regularly on Tidefans. :)

I am a lifelong Bama fan, but I grew up in Virginia. Anyone who has lived or travelled in Va probably has noticed that specialized license plates are very popular. It is because they are so cheap in Va and the DMV does not change a monthly charge for the plates like in most states.

My parents used to have GoBama1 as their license plate because there is a 7 letter limit for specialized plates. One day a fellow Bama fan stopped next to us at a stop light and told us to roll down the window and shouted "Roll Tide" at us and we had a discussion about Bama football at an intersection until the light turned green. This was in 1993 just after we won the NC.

No secrets here...

I started kayaking when I was a Soph at UA back in '95. Jess is a rare name, so 'kayakerjess' is always avaliable (hotmail, yahoo, you name it). And, now my standard username for all occasions. Although, looking at some of the others, I'm wishing I had been a little more creative...

If you have too roll up your car window to hear your cell phone it's probably me passing you!

BAMAHD,Bama man on a Harley Davidson.

C=first initial
Earl=middle name

Would be Sam Meeks by Spot Dailey's reasoning. With a name like Major Johnson there is a lewd tyoe of career waiting out there.

bamanator.....the bama part is obvious and the -nator is a twist from Arnold's movies - terminator....which reminds me of our defense & their kick butt
mentality...i thought it was a catchy name , that is, until my wife laughed at me when I told her ...but hey what does she know ? she's a barner...trying to turn her from the dark side...lol..... :biggrin:

I'm sure everybody's heard the Bryant/Blanda shoe story. Anyway, I like the story as it's a reminder that doing the right thing is more important than following the letter of the law.

Bamapossum

OK, this one could be a little different.

Among my many "hobbies" in this world, my most passionate is as a "hardcore" Civil War reenactor. It's a different type of hobby than what most people see at local reenactments. We are very, VERY history heavy as opposed to shootem up stuff. The group that I reenact with is called the "possum skinners mess", and I am known as possum (yes, I know it is technically opossum) within the hobby and the internet. I like the possum moniker, so I use it frequently.

Here you go...

Tide - my team, 64 - year of my birth and the national championship. :)

BTW, my son was born in 1992 - year of the national championship! :biggrin:

DiamondDust tends to confuse people as it's not baseball related...

I used to be a VERY BIG pro-wrestling fan. The Japanese have very interesting names for pro-wrestling moves. Diamond Dust was one of those names.

A wrestler by the name of Masato Tanaka, who would wrestle state side every now and then, used the manuever. The best way to describe it is picture the victim with his back to the turnbuckles. The person executing the move climbs to the top ropes, grabs the opponent, does a flip off the top rope, and executes the equivalent of a Stone Cold Stunner on the way down. It's a sight to be seen live, and I always loved the name of it... Diamond Dust.

Now, I also use the David Lee Roth excuse. I'm a big fan of early Van Halen, and my first name is David. The only time I'll let anyone refer to me as "Dave" is when they call me "Diamond Dave" in honor of the original "Diamond" David Lee Roth. Hence, DiamondDust fits again.
