Miami Sun Sentinel reporting Saban to interview with Bama this week

While most of us would like to believe there is some serious consideration by NS for the job I think we'd agree he is/was a longshot at best. He's two years into his "dream job" at the level he always wanted to coach. I don't see him leaving it yet. Too early. The buyout would be huge and the salary would be huge. Too much money? Don't get me wrong, when all this went down with XCMS getting fired, NS was the first name I thought of as a coach I feel like we'd need and would love to have here. BUT I just can't grasp him going from where he is now back to college ball and starting over. If MM does however pull this seemingly insurmountable feat off, I for one would be thrilled. If not, I'm perfectly happy with RR.

This more promising than "no interest whatsoever, now or never." But it could very easily be the ol' leveraging your boss for more money trick.

I just cant see RR as our coach. I dont care for his offence at all. It looks like a Fla/aggie hybred. I know it is explosive and all of that but I just dont like the idea of running QBs being recruited at Alabama.

He would not run that exact same offense at Bama. He would tailor the spread around the current players just like Meyer is doing at UF. JPW would flourish quite nicely and trust me we wouldn't have "redzone" problems. I believe that Meyer isn't going to go to the "running qb" spread he implemented at Utah. Tebow isn't fast or quick enough to implement it and he wouldn't last an entire year getting hit like I've watched him get hit at times this season. This is the SEC not the mountain west or whatever conference exist out there.

By reading Cecil'c article the only thing that can be determined is that we won't get Spurrier or Saban since they were the first two choices.

This is just irresponsible journalism. For a newspaper to write a whold article about what another newspaper wrote is unbelieveable to me. If they were to have put the Huntsville times article in there paper from the AP, ok. But I can't believe a writer would write this article just saying, "hey guys guess what I saw in another newspaper." Maybe pick up the phone and look into where this article came from and see if there is any validity to it before it goes to print next time, eh fellows? ;)

I agree with you. I do not like his ofense or defense. A team with a running QB can not Succeed in the SEC. He may put up some great individual stats but that will not equate to wins and when what happens when the guy you build your whole offense around gets hurt?

I agree, having a non mobile quarterback that will stand still and be sacked is a much better option.
