Local Atlanta sports radio talk shows are saying that Arthur Blank will come out with some sort of decision as what the Falcons intend to do about Vick, initially at least, within the next 24 hours.

Speculation seems to be a suspension of four or more games up to the entire season.
I guess they think he'll be at some Federal facility with a work-release program. Look people, he owned the home where illegal dog-fighting was going on and there was an organized dog trafficking ring. Stick a fork in him, he's done. His chances of getting out of this look about as good as his Fantasy Football statistics (which, as they say, "ain't too good"). The NFL commissioner and the owner of the Falcons won't have a say in what he is doing soon.

Roger Goodell has asked the Falcons to withhold punishment until the league has a chance to review everything. This might not be good for Mr. conVick.

Re: Michael Vick........former Falcons QB to be

The local news has reported that Joey Harrington (ex-Detroit Lions QB) has assumed the role as #1 QB. They're screwed !!!!
Dude, take it from a Detroit Lions fan :p_sad:, Harrington is a good quarterback. He was just saddled with the Lions - the place good talent goes to die. Luckily, he got out while he was still young and coachable. The Falcons will do no worse with him than they've done with Vick.

I guess you missed Joey's good performance with the Dolphins last year.

In 11 games, Harrington threw for 2,236 yards, 12 TDs, and 15 INTs.

Joey's not a good quarterback...and neither is Vick.

No, actually I saw many Dolphins games last year. Aging line. No wide receivers and no running attack = helpless QB. He's far from an All-Pro, but the Falcons could certainly do worse.

I guess Joey's been wildly unlucky.

Fortunately in Atlanta, he will have a more successful running attack. What? Oh...Vick, the team's 2nd leading rusher won't be playing. So, I guess that running attack won't be so great. True, Joe Horn comes to the Falcons to improve a weak receiving corps, but Joe's not getting any younger or healthier. As far as the Falcons line, it's a mix of aging vets and unproven youngsters.

I don't disagree that the Falcons could do worse. Joey Harrington might be one of the best backups in the NFL, but he's a backup for a reason.

Word is Blank is furious with Vick but his hands were tied. All Blank can do is suspend Vick four games at the moment. If he does that Vick can report to camp and practice then receive pay while he rides the bench, and Blank is not happy giving Vick a payed vacation! Cutting him at the moment is not an option without due process and the Vick lovers.

Roger Goodell has stepped in and bailed Blank out. Vick is ordered not to attend camp by the league. By doing that Vick will receive eleven hundred dollars a week for training camp and the big paychecks will be supended till he is cleared by the league.

something occurred to me last night about this. i think i know why the nfl and falcons are not so quick to throw vick out. keep in mind i think vick did at least know about the dogfighting. what if the nfl kicks vick out (as most of you seem to be so fired up to do) and then it goes to trial and we find out that everyone is lying and vick is innocent. now the nfl has wrongflluy fired someone and have left themselves open for a huge lawsuite (wrongfull termination and defamation of character). i think they are just trying to protect themselves legally and will wait for the outcome of the trial to pass judgement. again i don't believe vick is completely innocent.

You could very well be right. But from looking through the indictment, the government has a pretty solid case.

did you not read the post? i said i did not believe vick was innocent. i was just stating what i thought about why the nfl and the falcons haven't kicked vick off the team and out of the nfl. next time read the whole post before taking a shot at me. you basically called me stupid and delusional.

what i do think is there is some remote chance (very remote) that he may not have participated in the dogfighting but he did know about it. even if there are witnesses keep something in mind people lie everyday.
