I’ve not read every page here but for perspective - out of those thousand seats Ds lost during the Obama years (including state legislatures), Trump in two years gave them back about 1/3 of them.

Yeah that while the Dems attend orientation and strategy sessions on governing of the diverse group of independents and straight up Republicans Trump managed to push into the blue column.

In all seriousness it would be hopeful to see all of the centrist elected to the Democratic house pull the party toward a much broader coalition not swayed so much toward the radical left.

Not sure they actually have a brain function that works this way or some of them might change their thinking eventually. They file it away in the 'never mention again' folder and pretend like it didn't happen.

Did you see Flake's comments when McConnell refused to bring the Protect Mueller Bill to the floor for a vote. He said that he would not vote for any judicial nominees until the leadership responded to this bipartisan proposal. We should see more and more Republican's up for reelection in 2020 bail on Trump and he will become even more unhinged!

They have to wait for the Mercer's and Fox News to develop and coordinate their talking points. As Scarlett said...After all, tomorrow is another day!

Absentee ballots missing birth dates must be counted, judge orders

A federal judge has ruled that Georgia counties must count absentee ballots even if the voter’s date of birth is incorrect or missing, and he is preventing the state from finalizing election results until that happens.

Although U.S. District Judge Steve Jones agreed with the Georgia Democratic Party and Stacey Abrams’ campaign on this issue, he ruled against them on two others. He will not require counties to accept absentee ballots with incorrect residence addresses or to accept provisional ballots cast by people who attempted to vote in a different county than where they are registered to vote.

Cindy Hyde-Smith wins the Senate race in Mississippi thanks to last minute support from Donald Trump. #winning.

This gives the GOP a 53-47 lead in the Senate, a net gain of two from the last Congress.

There is one House race left in California. The Democrat has a slight lead as ballots are still being counted. (What is their problem?).

As of now, the House is 234-200 for the Democrats, a gain of 39. The one race left was held by a Republican. So it will either be a gain of 39 or 40 for them.

Once this race is decided we can start getting ready for the 2020 elections.

Losing 39 or 40 seats - I’d say that was a “wave”. It didn’t affect the Senate because most of those losses were in states where Republican Senators either weren’t up for re-election or the Senators were already Dems.
