Keeping with mods advice I'll post this here. Read it yesterday on FB, which I know is suspect. The FB site post is called: Viral Clips 5.8. Anyway, the article/post is pasted below. If JM really said this, it kinda ticks me off for him to give Ryann Grubb this advice ("warning" according to the post) because the very things he advises are, IMO, the weaknesses that JM brought to the team. Again, if true, this solidifies my conviction that JM has absolutely NO self-awareness. He's acting as if the things Grubb needs to fix were not caused by his shortcomings! Anyway, here is the post:

Ex-Alabama QB Issues Blunt Warning to Ryan Grubb Before 2025 Season
Former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe issued a blunt warning to new Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast, urging him to maximize the team’s talent in 2025. Milroe, now preparing for the NFL, emphasized the pressure on Grubb to deliver a dynamic offense after a lackluster 2024 season under Nick Sheridan, where Alabama averaged just 389.7 yards per game. “Grubb’s gotta use the weapons right—Ryan Williams, Jam Miller, those guys are studs,” Milroe said, referencing his own experience with Grubb’s pass-heavy system at Washington. With Ty Simpson, Austin Mack, and Keelon Russell competing to replace him, Milroe stressed consistency, warning, “Pick a QB and let him cook, or it’ll be a mess.” Grubb, reunited with coach Kalen DeBoer, faces high expectations to restore Alabama’s offensive prowess, starting with their August 30 opener against Florida State. #ExAlabamaQB #RyanGrubb #2025Season

Milroe is right in that we do need to use all our weapons. That wasn't, however, his own strong suit. He mostly used his own -- which were considerable. But even halfway decent defenses figured him out, and either he or Sheridan (or both?) lacked effective responses to the defensive adjustments. So the warning rings more than a bit hollow.

I'm not sure what Milroe means by, "choose a QB and let him cook." Does that mean let the QB go OMOP through the season? That hasn't worked so well the last couple of years. Does it mean run what the QB does best? Does it mean choose the QB whose skill set best suits the offensive philosophy? Does it mean make the QB the point through which the offense runs? I don't know what he meant by that statement.

I thank Milroe for his time as a player and wish him all the best in the NFL.

I'm not interested in his thoughts on how Grubb and DeBoer should implement their offensive philosophy.

The "official" end of the Jalen Milroe saga. Never thought I'd see the day!

I wish him success, but I think he won't find it until he learns greater "self awareness" and he understands his weaknesses as a QB.

I'm so ready for a new signal caller after his 2 year debacle. I honestly think he was the most divisive player in Bama history. I know a starting QB at Bama comes with having confidence and swagger. But I've never seen a Bama QB that struggled with basic QB things such as Jalen who had such a high view of himself.

It's why I shared the quote about his advice to Grubb. He seems so out of touch with reality. No self awareness about why the offense struggled last year. Seems to not understand he was the primary reason.

And the part about spreading the ball around is ludicrous when the offense had to be simplified by the OC to a one read offense because of him!!!

I long for the day when this thread is either locked or considered irrelevant.
It’s definitely past its expiration date as titled.

Probably need a thread of some kind for people to vent though if they feel like it.

The Pro board would be the best place I suppose.

Fwiw I’m personally trying to not directly talk about him any more.

I just want to forget the whole saga as much as possible.
