Not sure why you are so dead set against trying to let this kid develop but that is cool. Hurts couldn’t read a defense either but we all love him because he was a winner. He was eventually able to become everything we hoped he would. He had better support from a coaching standpoint. Regardless of Milroe’s struggles against ATM last year did he not make the plays he needed to win the game? Anyway I am done. We will see how the season plays out.
Dude, Hurts (as a true Freshman) was MILES ahead of Milroe. Goodness

I don’t want to pick a fight. He has started 3 games. Does anyone honestly think we only only score 17 points today if he started his 4th game? Also go back to what I said about scheme. If he struggles reading a defense then make the game and the read easier for him him by giving quick safe throws and picking your spots for chunk plays later in the game. My 2 cents.
We score more today with Milroe?

Sure, ok, but we have catastrophic mistakes against teams with more talent. Against USF Milroe probably gets us more scores.

In arm talent yes. A thousand times yes. But in reading a defense no. Our wrs were ready to revolt hurts soph year for that very reason
Hurts could read defenses, he just wasn’t a very good passer his first two years. If we are seriously going to debate who is the better QB between Hurts and Milroe, then I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.

No disrespect but he could not. Go back and watch those YouTube videos where that coach whatever guy would lose his mind every week. Hurts first two years were first read then run if not WIDE open. He was a better passer and a better runner but neither of them could read a d their first two years

Hurts was being coached to have one read then run. We agree that he was not a good passer, he was serviceable at best. My point is you can’t even say that about Milroe. He’s a liability. Hurts absolutely refused to turn the ball over, sometimes to his detriment, but he did what the coaches told him to do.

Again, you’re missing the main point. Milroe is a 3rd year player. There is no development. He is who he is.

“I know you’re gonna ask me about quarterbacks, but we’re gonna evaluate the quarterbacks that played today and evaluate Jalen Milroe in terms of how he played and decide this week who gives the best opportunity to be successful as an offensive team. And that’s the way we’ll go.

My opinion and I may never log in again to share it. Jalen gives us the best chance to win. The offensive line is struggling and his athleticism is the difference. He made better throws and was able to get positive yards for the most part. He made two bad throws. Starting his 3rd game...
Yeah, sorry, but you are just seeing what you want to see here despite the evidence.

I think I largely agree with this. I don't think Milroe right now is a world beater or anything but we score more today if he starts.

I missed some of Tys snaps putting my son to bed but outside of 1 throw I didn't see a whole lot.

I was hopeful we had a QB who could run the Alabama offense consistently but I think the reality is our best QB might just be a boom or bust guy and we need to tailor the offense more to him than we have.
Just what is the "Alabama" offense? What more has to be done to "taylor" the offense to Milroe? I mean he single handily almost lost the Texas A&M game last year with like 50 frazillion fumbles and 20 gazillion interceptions. Is the Alabama offense a short passing game to set up deep bombs later? Scratch that. Jalen cant read fast enough to decide on an rpo. He isnt accurate enough to throw a crossing route. He waits till a wr is wide open before throwing it which gives the db time to break on the ball. He stares down a wr to the point a db 15 yds away has time to break on the ball. This is jalen hurts in his sophmore year. Except jalen wouldnt throw a yolo ball into triple coverage.
