Milroe's accuracy

Pressure gets to Milroe just like it does to most quarterbacks. Bryce Young may have been the best at making a play while under pressure and it is hard not to make the comparison since we transitioned from Bryce to Jalen.

One of the problems, in my opinion, is that every QB Bama has had since Tua took over has been able to make teams pay for blitzing. Milroe can't do that.

Because he struggles consistently throwing with anticipation which is crucial in CkD's offense. He also struggles with pre and post snap reads. Combine that and you know why two different HC's and OC's have had to scare back the offense.
I meant why does he have to wait until next season. I mean does someone have a gun to his head? Figuratively not literally.

There’s nothing that wouldn’t lead me to believe DeBoer is sink or swim with Milroe, and I gotta wonder is Ty really that much better.

I still believe we’d be defending National Champs and undefeated right now if there was somebody else under center. This has got to be the biggest waste of a football team that I’ve ever seen. And I don’t think we are that bad, I just really believe players (especially in the WR room) are getting tired of this and so you get what you get every Saturday: undisciplined play, lack of energy, bad body language, etc.

Lots of questions posed with unclear answers on this thread. Take his mechanics for instance. It might be "coachability" issues, speed of the game, confidence in OL/WR's, etc. There's a lot of possible reasons he's not improving there and we may never know the answers.

But other things are proven clear at some point. For instance, Milroe has a limited ceiling when it comes to reading a defense and passing vision. That aspect of his game has been weak for two years now and it's not going to magically improve, even with a great QB coach like CKD. Some players just don't have that skillset and he's one of them.

At this point, we're not going to see any major improvement in Milroe's game. What we can expect, however, is for CKD in this off week to continue to figure out how to work with these deficiencies. With our defense showing vast improvement, we don't have to have #4 playing lights out to win. But, with all of the things we're talking about, other teams also have their own particular issues too. For example, it's guaranteed that every locker room across major college football has issues because of NIL.

Accuracy was not good tonight. He has not appeared to be as explosive as he was in weeks 1;2;&3. I think they are hiding an injury. He is not even looking to run as much as he has in the past 🤔
I think this is a great take. It's not that he can't play, he proved he could late last year and as you note, in the first games this year.

But something has been off. It seemed to me that we changed the way we were playing after the UGA game. Milroe's always been a better runner and throwing deep balls than short/intermediate throws, yet for some reason we seem to have moved to those types of throws and didn't run him as much.

Personally, I'm not a fan of planned QB runs unless it is part of an RPO, but he is good at it, so do it.

Unlike many on here who apparently attend practice every day, I don't have enough data* to make any call about Simpson.

*Other than what I saw in Tampa last year and that was awful.

Will continue to be a “fanboy” of whomever holds that position. RTR
I respect your allegiance but this isn't 2010 anymore. Players are getting LITERALLY PAID and they should be viewed accordingly. If you don't want to be criticized for poor play, or held to a high standard then don't accept the 2.5 million and transfer to Hinds Community College. I'm sure someone there will still criticize you, but at least you don't have to worry about having all that money in your bank account.

Just to generally expound on this point- Not only are players now getting paid, but the demand is that their pay come DIRECTLY from the fans. It’s not coming from a salary or ticket sales, etc. They are asking fans to almost literally stuff hundreds of dollars into their pockets to play the game and stick around. No other sport in existence does this right now.

This sequence was particularly painful to watch... throw into coverage, throw over the head, throw on a one hop....none of the passes were catchable unless the receiver pulled off some sort of miracle. And it took 12 seconds off the clock...returning the ball to Mizzou...

Two rebuttals:
1- these players still represent the University of Alabama, where I attended and met my wife, and it will always hold a dear spot in my heart for those reasons. So I will continue to pull for JM if he's the starter.
2- these players aren't being paid by the University so treating them like an NFL franchise player is disingenuous at best.

Some of y'all (not necessarily you specifically) are acting like the fact that NIL is here means the lines we've drawn at TideFans regarding discussing players have moved. They have not. Regardless as to how much or how little these players are earning in NIL cash, they play to represent the school we love, not some random business that happens to be located in your town (like the NFL).

Against a team with a capable offense.....that kind of sequence puts our own defense in a hole. Then we're fighting uphill the entire game.

Yeah, the defense on the bench asking "already?!? Was it an interception?"

that 3rd and ten wasn't the best throw, but it didn't hop and it did hit prentice right in the arms. i've seen him catch similar before

You have to wonder which team will prepare harder. I know Kelly. He will be relentless over the next 2 weeks. If that problem can be fixed with hard work and preparation then LSU will be ready. Will Alabama be?
Considering he had all last season to try and fix the d and the summer and this season so far……can’t imagine he all of a sudden finds a way to “hard work it”

There were some encouraging signs from our Defense but it remains to be seen just how much of that was a hapless Mizzou Offense missing their starting QB.

Our Offense?
