That is funny and at the same time very true. I am sure most here can tell of such stories. I know I can. My X-sister in law graduated from Auburn. She called one night and ask my Mom how to turn on her computer while still in school at Auburn. My mother looked at me and said "What in the world is your brother doing with that knothead." My brother earned his degree at Georgia Tech in Civil Engineering. That relationship was doomed from the get go.
From the "I kid you not" department.
In my first job out of college I worked for a contractor who was setting up an ethernet network at NASA HQ in Huntsville. The network tied together a bunch of mainframes and desktop computers, which were relatively new. I got a trouble call one day and was sent to Nasa building 4200 to investigate. The engineer thought that the 3.5 inch floppy drive was a cup holder. By repeatedly putting his coffee cup in it he had snapped off the receiving tray. On his wall he proudly displayed a mechanical engineering degree from Auburn, class of 1957.
I kid you not.
